According to the Sun, at least. I'll report back on my Paris investigation next month. :)

Australia
Switzerland

France would be fine, were it not for the French.

Luxembourg would be my first choice on the list. It's a jolly good place. I believe it has higher per capita income than the US.

Isn't it like 2 city blocks big though?

Bit bigger than that. It's probably smaller than NJ, though. But a whole, whole lot nicer (I've lived in NJ and spent a fair bit of time in Luxy).

Nice countryside, forests, lakelands, historic buildings, low crime rates, fantastic food, cultured people fluent in four languages, good government, good public services, and very low tax on gasoline (the lowest in civilised Europe), so much so that I aim to rock up to Luxy with just enough fuel to get me to the first gas station. Plus I can then burn the whole tankful on the first no-speed limited bit of German autobahn past the border, come back to Luxy, refuel and repeat.

Luxembourg is a great place, trust me. I defy anyone not to have a good time there.

The only way I'll go to France is at the head of a conquering army. Those damn frogs NEED to be subjugated.

Luxembourg? You may be right - but I'd really like to see New Zealand myself.

I believe it. It's pretty easy to have a great community if your government, resources, and business climate more or less automatically excludes criminals, welfare cheats, and the willfully unemployed and anti-social.

I'd know - my community does. :p

I will try your Kilkenny and give you a more informed opinion. :D

I have a refined taste when it comes to beer. There are specific things I like and I look for those in a beer. Kilkenny is damn near perfect. Good luck finding it here in the states though.

If I can't get it here, then I will just have to agree to disagree. I am a well traveled beer drinker, had beer from many countries across Europe, Mexico, Grenada, Panama and here in the good ole U.S.. My opinion is Ayinger Helles is the best and Carib beer in Grenada is the worst.

My wife and I like to tromp all over your state and New Mexico the best. After that would be the Louisiana side of Texas and Louisiana. Savannah Georgia is a nice place too.

Spend money here - I'll help you spend it better.

Uh.... we don't actually travel to OK for any reason. No offense, but we have enough free-range goats here. :D

Colorado has a beautiful spot around every curve and Oklahoma has one every hundred miles.

Not interested in living in any place that is cold. By cold, I mean winter temps no lower than 60 degrees. So, that leaves out most EU countries. Australia or NZ would be nice. For an American, you have to deposit 500 to 1 million dollars in their bank to become a resident and it draws zero interest.

Belize would be perfect for me if it were not for those doggone hurricanes. Might just rent instead of buy and spend winters there.

You might look into to Costa Rica or Malta. Peru has some astonishing ex-pat American communities. They are high but not cold. ;)

I do not speak Spanish and with my hearing loss, it would be difficult to learn. Panama, Mexico and Ecuador are others under consideration. Belize and Panama uses the dollar as their currency. Belize is the only country south of the border that has English as their dominant language. Mexico has more US and Canadian expats. Lake Chapala, Mexico has many expats living there. However, I want to live on the beach. Costa Rica is a beautiful country but it has gotten very expensive. Beach properties prices are out of sight. Will check out Malta and Peru. Thanks

Malta would be ideal for you. It's got excellent climate, and there is no language difficulty. Not sure what the immigration position would be, though.

No ... Belgium has the best beer.

All a matter of taste, I guess. You need to like top fermented beers to appreciate Belgian Trappist / Abdij beer. There is a huge selection to choose from.

I really liked Germany, but I highly doubt I would travel outside of the U.S. again. I want to move to New Mexico (http://www.newmexico.org/).

And to end the "discussion" of beer, free is the best kind!:D
