View Full Version : Can We Please Stop Labeling Liberals "Elite"?

In a survey released October 14, 2009 – just three months ago – the liberal-leaning Pew Research Center ran a “News IQ Quiz.”

It probably didn’t surprise the Pew staff to learn that a “partisan knowledge gap” existed between Democrats and Republicans.

But it surely horrified them to realize that the gap favored… Republicans.

Here's Your Score: You correctly answered 10 out of the 12 possible questions, which means you did better on the quiz than 69% of the general public.

Not all of their answers are correct, the Dow is closer to 12000 than 8000 right now.
The current unemployment rate exceeds 10% which would make it closer to 12% than 8%.
so in light of that I would have 11 of 12

I got 10 of 12.

Anyone else notice that the only question the democrats did better at than republicans was the number of those killed in Iraq?

Do you happen to know if the national unemployment rate is currently closer to:

4%
8%
12%
16%

Uh... it's %10. Which one to choose? :(

EDIT: Apparently, it's 9.7%, which is closer to October's unemployment rate anyway.

Actually, the Dow is closer to 10,000 right now. I'm disturbed by the difference in men's and women's scores. Who doesn't know what Ben Bernanke does?!?!?

elite can mean actual or self described. with libs its the latter.

probably better to use the term elitist to differentiate.

I would call the left effete and elitist but not elite.

right on the money.
they believe themselves to be better ergo they know whats best for all of us.

that just happens to be whatever lines the pockets of their friends and increases government in the process.

So did I. I got the same questions wrong that everyone else did-the unemployment rate (which is 12 % in my state), the Dow average and the other was the number of dead soldiers in Iraq. I thought it was 5300, not 4300.

As Casey pointed out, you had to pay attention to the date of the quiz. I got 12 out of 12.

I don't care much about bags, but Coach used to be good quality, about thirty years ago. Not any more.

It's like this: I said: "Hun, what brand of bags are more expensive that coach?" and she answered. :p

I wouldn't pay 4000.00 for a bag if it was made from the hide off from Cindy Crawford's ass!

I got 8 out of 12, shoulda had 10 out of 12, but apparently some of these questions are a bit out of date, like the Dow Jones Average, and the national unemployment.
