I rewatched The Dark Knight this weekend.
I'll never get tired of Ledger knocking it out of the park as the Joker, but I still like Nicholson's version, too. They both played it great, but different. Who do you like?

Jack Nicholson chewed up the scenery as the Joker but also played him as a loveable buffoon. He was insane. He was also Jack Napier. He had a past.

Heath Ledger's Joker on the other hand was a lot more menacing. The scary thing about the Joker was that he kept changing his back story. "Know how I got these scars?" You could only wonder, Who the fuck is this guy?

Hell, I forgot all about him. He was a little before my time, but I watched the old Batman shows in syndication. I remember my Mom telling me that he was a pretty big name in those days.

Heath hands down. He gave the role the "crazy" it needed. Jack over played it so it was almost comical.

Mark Hamill as the Joker in the video game Batman: Arkham Asylum is one of the beat Jokers I've ever seen. He actually has a line where he goes, "Paging Dr. Howard, Dr. Fine, Dr. Howard". I nearly fell out of my chair.

Agreed, but read The Killing Joke, or even much of the Joker's part in The Dark Knight Returns. Some of those lines and actions are comical, in a demented way. Still haven't seen the new Dark Knight movie to comment on Ledger, so I'll abstain from the poll.

He was gay, ya know. A gay Joker, Oh! the irony. :D

In case anyone is slow on the uptake.
–adjective 1. having or showing a merry, lively mood: gay spirits; gay music.

Mark Hamill wasn't the only voice actor from the animated series to voice their character in the game. Kevin Conroy (Batman) and Arleen Sorkin (Harley Quinn) worked on it as well.

I have been thinking about this one. At the end of the day, I think I have to go with Ledger's version because he made Joker real in that he was a product of a amorphous lifetime of misery that he felt compelled to share with the world. Kind of like a Keith Olbermann with clown paint and a pencil.
