Sure, it's an over used term, like you've stated. But it's a valid term when used to describe those who negatively obsess about gays. And as far as I can tell, Megi seems to do that. It's almost like he's afraid there is a gay man in his closet waiting to jump out at him.

Whether I know who you are or not, I can tell a lot about you by your choice of words and your childish behavior. As for you obsession with gay people and there behavior, no matter what they are there is no harm in not being rude. Just because they are rude that doesn't mean that its ok to be rude back. If you choice to be then fine, but don't get all self-righteous and offended when you are called on it. Also, there is nothing wrong in condemning the behavior and actions and I applaud you for it, but does it have to be done using vulgar language like some 6th grader or some uneducated delinquent?

Sure they have that right. And if someone doesn't like how I say something - they have the right to ask me or staff for an edit. Of course, I'm not inclined to take distasteful potshots at people. My two cents (as if you guys couldn't figure this out on your own), it is possible and even desirable to show a minimum level of courteously to an individual while at the same time disagreeing, despising and even hating their ideology and/or character. From a Christian perspective it falls along the lines of hate the sin love the sinner. I can attack Barney's political views, his stance on homosexuality even his own homosexuality and this can be done without the vulgarity that many display. I have no issues with calling him gay, but he is not genetically of the swine family. He make act like a pig, but he is not a pig.

I can see poli's point in that even when Barney's homosexuality is not involved in the issue at hand people still manage to bring it up. This issue in the OP was Barney's proclivity at pork barrel spending. What does his homosexuality have to do with that? Why is even brought up. Other than to inflame and distract for the real topic it serves no purpose. For the most part that is exactly what has been achieved by the title of this thread and (more to the point) the changing of the title. In fact I can't find a single post that deals with the topic of the OP. Interesting isn't it?

As for censorship at CU there is some and it is done for the good of the site. For example any post that looks like it belongs on Stormfront gets deleted and the poster usually gets banned. The 'dancing on the grave posts' like the ones early this will also be deleted immediately. They are in very port taste and reflect badly on CU and it's members. Certain standards have to be maintained in order to make CU an enjoyable experience for all. No one wants to stifle free speech, but for every way to post something that crosses the line of common decency there is another way to say the same thing that is neither PC nor rude and discourteous.

The preceding was not necessary the views of management or mods. This was more of a ‘the way I see things’ post. Take it for what it is worth.
