Schmitt said each of the boys shot Coney in the head.Police said the boys returned to University Christian campus by 4:15 p.m., about an hour before Coney was reported missing. About two hours later, a bicyclist reported seeing the body in a drainage ditch along Powers Avenue, not far from Wolfson High School.Schmitt said the pair were friends of Coney. While police said they both admitted to killing Coney, there was no clear motive for the crime. Schmitt said there was no indication that the victim was sexually molested."The situation is a parent's worst nightmare, and our thoughts and prayers go out to the girl's family," Schmitt said.

I use to think that nothing could really shock me anymore but this story and given me cause to think. What is going wrong with the kind in this world. Stories like this are getting more and more common. Otherwise normal decent kid throwing their lives away for apparently no good reason. It just makes no sense.

I don't know if I'd say these are getting more common. Just getting more attention. Watch the local news here any given night and you'll hear about a murder or two that takes place.
