The people of Chile who have just suffered devastating earthquakes have universal health care.

They now are waiting for tsunamis and if any citizen of Chile is injured in these disasters, they will not have to worry about how to pay for getting their injuries taken care of. They also have an excellent system of clinics and hospitals many of which will be able to receive patients immediately if functioning. Since Chile is a country that suffers earthquakes very frequently up and down its almost four thousands of miles of length due to a string of volcanoes that make up a lot of the Andes mountain range, the people of Chile have systems in place to deal with earthquakes and will cope better than the poor Haitians could.
We are waiting for a big one any day now here on the West Coast of the USA and Canada from one or more of our many faults and volcanic ranges. These earthquakes could be huge in magnitude too. Since our health care legislation has been made a mockery of by our casino style health insurance industry and the Senate whores who service them, a disaster of the same magnitude would really lay open the raw wounds in our health care system that were first exposed with Hurricane Katrina. I hope the Congressional and Senate obstructionists sit up and take notice. Even President Obama won't be able to pull miracles out of his hat to cover their sorry asses if a disaster of that magnitude strikes, especially with many of them looking for re-election.
Earthquakes are an act of our planet that we can do nothing about, but we can do something about getting universal health care for everyone. I hope our elected representatives in Washington D. C. start seeing the light and act quickly on this instead of the disgusting dialogue that came from the conservatives yesterday at the health care summit.
Fucking morons.
