USA Gun Owners Buy 14 Million Plus Guns In 2009

Gun Owners Buy 14 Million Plus Guns In 2009 – More Than 21 of the Worlds Standing Armies

That is 14,033,824,000 billion+ rounds of Ammo..you think that is why we have an Ammo shortage?

- Data released by the FBI’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) for the year reported 14,033,824 NICS Checks for the year of 2009, a 10 percent increase in gun purchases from the 12,709,023 reported in 2008.

So far that is roughly 14,000,000+ guns bought last year!
The total is probably more as many NICS background checks cover the purchase of more than one gun at a time by individuals.

To put it in perspective that is more guns than the combined active armies of the top 21 countries in the world. countries by number of troops
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_number_of_troops

Of the NICS background checks preformed less than and average .005% were denied, showing, overwhelmingly, that law abiding American citizens are the ones buying guns and that criminals are getting their guns elsewhere.

14,033,824,000 billions rounds of Ammo
Assuming each gun buyer bought 1000 rounds of ammo for each purchase, and you and I know that it is way, way more than that, that would be easily 14,033,824,000+ billions rounds of ammo fired by USA gun owners.

What percent of people were killed or injured by this ammo…it is just to infinitesimally small for me to calculate?

Crime At Record Lows
This record year in firearms background checks show that Americans are solidly in-favor of exercising their civil right to Keep and Bear Arms.

In a year were crime has reached an all time record low what is plainly clear is that more guns equal LESS CRIME!:D

One sure way to lose an arguement or debate is to include the words "the rest of the world" in there anywhere. God! I hate hearing how if "the rest of the world" does one thing it should automatically mean that we should do it.

Let any would be tyrant beware of an armed and vigilant American people!

That just suggests to me that the rest of the world is still behind. To a liberal, it means we need to be more like the rest of the world.

For me too. I'm partial to wheelguns and shotguns. I only have one .22, a single action Colt, and would like another for plinking.

What confuses most people about me is that I am a passivist and I practice a philosophy of passivism but I really like to target shoot and collect guns.

I don't know about passivism. I looked it up and found a definition but that really doesn't help understand it.

I'm looking at my boyfriends rifle by the bed and his hand gun on the dresser, and I think you owe me a Chambourd and Sprite and a new monitor! :D

You're just cautious, that's all.

You're still a pacifist, but you know not everyone else is.

Does not matter. I have to be (to the best of my abilities) as God desires me to be. I leave to God the concerns for my safety.

My apologies. I propose, in the symbolic gesture of exercising the second amendment freedoms of all Americans, I will shop for a new 1911 pistol this week. Or at least go to a range in lieu of buying you a new monitor or a sprite.

I will however send you one of my shamwow's to replace your chambourd? Or to at least help clean your monitor. They hold 200x their weight you know. Vince don't lie.

Good, that's 21 standing armies that would think twice before touching American shores. I'm thinking we should open artillery up to citizens, we may move way up the scale then.
