I love guns. I think they are a useful tool and great for recreational purposes, as well as survival purposes. They are wonderful examples of engineering art. I enjoy mostly rifles, but I have had the pleasure in being able to dapple in handguns as well (not old enough to "technically" own one yet...). My favorite rifle surprisingly is my old 1954 polish M44 (7.62x54R) I find the boom and kick quite impressive. Great piece of history. Oh, I'm also a member of the NRA :)

Who else has a passion for firearms?

What kind of firearms are you passionate about?

What is your shooting experience?

Where are they all today?

Every few weeks or so, someone will post a topic entitled "You show me yours and I'll show you mine", and all the gun owners post photos of their weapons. I'm not a gun owner, but I have learned a great deal about guns from reading the posts and looking at the photos. If I ever feel the need to get a gun, I certainly know where to seek advice about what model type would be best for me!

Some of the posters have some weapons that look pretty awesome, to my novice eyes.

If you ever do pick up a gun, try skeet shooting. Great for concentration, fun because you get to "blow" up biodegradable clay targets and it's a good way to let off steam :)

Oh, they'll be by. [To Megaguns91] I shoot trap and skeet, hunt, and keep up with target practice at the range. I'm in the NRA and the SAS.

I never do pic threads and I wouldn't inventory my firearms on a discussion board like this but plenty of others will be happy to post pix. We also have reloaders here and some AR-15 enthusiasts. ;)

Smart Fox, you are :)

I don't mind the AR. They're sharp guns, but I can shoot just as accurately with an AK74 as apposed to an AR and I can get rounds dirt cheap. And the fold under stock of the 74's makes for a good close quarters combat rifle.

Do you prefer 12 or 20 gauge (or 16 or .410 for that matter...) skeet shooting?

I shoot squirrels with my pellet gun every day. The cats really appreciate it.

Me too, until I ran out of squirrels and started shooting the cats.

Don't sweat it. I don't shoot to kill... just maim. The dogs appreciate it.

I prefer a 20 gauge. I like go after doves and do a little upland shooting so this is good for me. It really just depends on the gun and the modifications, though. I use a .410 for bunnies.

My gentle friend, if I had a dollar for everyone who said to me that "All guns are banned in Australia and people arent allowed to own guns"..I'd be a millionaire.

You're a breath of fresh air. :)

I purchased on Monday, a 1930 Izzy Mosin Nagant Model 1891/30. Have not had a chance to shoot it yet, but it will get the "bubba" treatment. I have an ATI black synthetic stock on the way. Also looking into scope mounts for it. I do love the boom of the 7.62x54R round though.

I am a hunter and I have the typical hunters firearms.

30-06 rifle, 12 Gage, Muzzleloading .50 caliber rifle.

I am not really a shooting enthusiast, but I can put 3 shots in a circle with the diameter of a coke can from 150 yards with either rifle and that is plenty good for my purposes.

The shotgun I use for birds - mostly turkeys ducks and pheasants - and I am not quite where I want to be accuracy-wise on a crossing target.

my dad has a Slavic version from WWII, and he had an Enfeild but the barrel was so fucked up that at 100 yards the round was literally on it's side hitting the target, Great for killing someone, bad for target practice. I think he got rid of it cuz it was to expensive to get it changed out.

I have a Bersa Thunder UC 9mm, love it small enough for conceal, but large enough for my hand to fit comfortably.

You did it now! :p

Aussies can own guns but they have to have a slew of permits/licenses and they have to have a "good" reason. Self defense isn't a "good" reason. There are other restrictions on storage and transport.

Owning a gun in Australia is kind of like owning a gun in San Francisco or NYC. Possible but only with a lot of governmental oversight and interference.

I'm a hunter, and wannabe collector. Monetary budget keeps me from owning all the guns I'd like to. I do own an AR-10 and a 20 gauge single shot. Dependant on where I get stationed next, I'll be buying at least one handgun. Not going to bother with it while I'm stationed in Illinois though.

I won't say how many I own.
I will say it took about 2 weeks to pack them all for the move.

I have been building a shot gun for a while now, allmost finished. Just ordered a Speedfeed IV-S stock from Brownell's, next is a light with a remote momentary switch, then I'm done with it.

Gonna move on to my AR and start the re-build on it next.

As for how many guns,.......hmmmm.:D

I started shooting bb-guns at 4. Graduated to a .22 when I was 12. Then on to bigger and better things at age 16.

Nice to see fellow shooters here! I mainly collect and target shoot. I have a M1 Garand I bought because I like the historical value of it. I have a couple of unique guns I inherited from my Father in law that date back to the late 1800's, I have a few handguns because I have a concealed pistol license, 2 ar15's and a Romanian AK that I bought for no other reason than they make libs wet their pants. Well, they're fun as hell to shoot too. ;)

There's always the requisite .22 and 870 12 gauge. :D
