Original message I'm running for Democratic County Committee


as a precinct chair. It's official as I picked up the paperwork today.

I live in such a small town that I only need one signature to get my name on the ballot (which will be my own) and I will be on there. NOw if only this paperwork were not so confusing.

My dad used to tell me about the time some guy tried to unseat a constable in Miles, Texas or Mertzon. The town had a population of about 600 people. Well the constable won handily and the upstart got a total of two votes. The day after the election the upstart goes into a local store with a gun strapped to his waist. Someone came up to the guy and asks, "What are you wearing a gun for? You did not win."

The guy answered, "As many friends as I got, I need TWO guns!"
