London, England (CNN) -- They are normally transmitters of the disease, but mosquitoes could one day be used to tackle malaria after scientists developed a genetically engineered version of the species that can deliver a vaccine.

Researchers altered the salivary glands of the Anopheles stephensi mosquito, dubbed a "flying vaccinator," so that it carried the Leishmania vaccine within its saliva.

 Haven't they learned yet that genetically altering bugs is a really fucking bad idea yet? And what? We're supposed to look at blood sucking parasites as GOOD things now??? Only another blood sucking parasite could ever conceive of such a thing. DDT will end malaria. Pull your asses out of your heads lefty enviro-weenies.

TOTD: WHAT THE FUCK is wrong with these people?

After 12-21-2012 when the earth has taken its revenge on us, it will be killer bees, fire ants and roaches that inherit the earth. If they want to do some reasearch on bugs I wish they would work on genetically altering those 3 so that they can't reproduce.

I hate bugs with a passion.
They should all be killed with extreme prejudice on site.

Well I might spare lady bugs and butterflies.
But anything else less that 5 inches with muliple legs - dead.

Mom always says that if it has more than 4 legs it has no right to live. ;)

Me and your Mom would get along splendidly. I started to go back in and edit my post above to say "anything less than 5 inches with more than 4 legs" as I like cute little toadie things under 5 inches. :)

Clayton......is that you?

Just checking to be sure your not my son on here. :D
That's me too, snakes, mice, bats, boogie men - none of those bother me at all.
But a bug can fly or run at me and I squeal like a little girl and run for cover.

What about praying mantis? They're kind of cute and get rid of a lot of the "bad" insects.

I had an emergency root canal Saturday morning. I did not leave the dentist's office until 4 PM. Then it was off to Las Vegas to see Barry Manilow! At first I did not know which of the two would be harder to sit through, the root canal or Manilow.

Over 4 1/2 hours in this dental chair:

It was 79 outside:

Inside the Paris Hotel & Casino...very nice place:

I'd take the root canal. Less painful.
