Outrage!!

There's no other word to describe my reaction to the news today of the behavior of Tea Party protesters as the historic Health Care Reform bill is being voted on in the Capitol. Hurling racist epithets at veteran black Congressmen like John Lewis, making disparaging comments to openly gay senator Barney Frank, and even allegedly spitting at a member as he went into the building.

What in God's name is happening here? And it's no longer just the health care bill ---it's about the Republicans' shameful silence in the face of escalating hatred and divisiveness on the part of Tea Party members. Where is the GOP leadership on this issue? Why aren't prominent Republicans on CNN and Fox News and CNBC decrying these racist and defamatory remarks?

What else does their silence indicate but agreement? Or at least a willingness to ride this growing tide of racist hatred to further their own political gain, in the upcoming mid-term elections and beyond. The health care debate has been debased into an excuse to roil frustrated Americans into an ugly, divisive frenzy, with the tacit support of the so-called mainstream GOP.

The behavior of today's Tea Party protestors is a slap in the face to those who believe in representative government, reasoned debate and Constitutional norms. They should be ashamed of themselves, as should the mainstream Republicans whose silence only reinforces the hatred.

If the whole name calling thing is true - those that did it were well out of line and it's intolerable. But the stupid words of a fringe few do not negate the valid points of the TEA Party movement.

Very possible. It's also very possible that it's all lies - that does not mean such actions should be in any way condoned.

It must be true, I heard Geraldo say it ten minutes ago on his show.

I'm telling ya, this hurricane season I want Geraldo either hit by lightning or swept away in storm surge. I'd settle for him getting hit by a flying STOP sign.

Word. I would imagine that is probably just about 100% true.

I'd like to ask J98 where her outrage was over the war protesters outside Walter Reed that our young and hurting heros and their families had to wade through daily; or the vile sub-human scumbags that show up to protest at military funerals; or the code pink types that show up outside military recruiting offices?

The left should not even think of casting a stone in a discussion of which side has the worst behaved activists.

Oh I just can't stand him! I wish they would quit ruining my mornings by hauling him out on Fox & Friends. He grates on my nerves so bad! That would be so awesome if he'd get struck by lightening while brother Criag is filming it. (not wishing death to him of course, just wish it would knock him off the air permanently).

Once again the race card, and homophobic card, is played by the left. (http://corner.nationalreview.com/post/?q=ODA4NjY5NmNjNTM4OTY1ZTAxMjg3M2QzNDkxYWI1N2M=)

It's like America is waking up after a bad party with a bad hangover. Once we stop being sick and tired, we are gonna kick the asses of the guys that made us go.

Very likely. But even if it was some kook, so what? It's not representative of the movement as a whole.

Well, at least Joanne's not literally wishing death on all the Tea Partiers, like she did in a post of hers a few months ago.
Gotta love those tolerant, classy liberals.

Yup. And in part it's why we should always call out and put down the racism in our midst.
