I can't stand my f**king right winged family!

My sister in law wrote this on her FB Wall - "A question: If Obamacare is so wonderful, why have Obama and his staff exempted themselves from it? If it is good enough for the rest of us, why not for them?"

So there a couple posts and one where a friend of hers said that media matters said it was a mistake saying that congress would get different care than the rest of us to which she responded something about "learning more about the matter" blah blah blah.

So I wrote a very nice, cogent reply explaining that it is not a health care bill that they voted on or that even exists but it is a series of health reforms. I did say that the Democrats were mad because we lost the Public Option and were calling the president a corporatist while the Republicans we mad and calling him a socialist, (I think the irony is interesting)

I then explained some examples, like keeping children on their parents until they are 26 etc and I ended it nicely.

I went to check if anyone had responded and the bitch DELETED MY POST!

I swear I do not think these people want to be informed(edited: because ms. high and mighty is RIGHT, and anyone who doesn't agree with her is WRONG). I believe they want to stay in their mis-informed egotistical sanctimonious ignorance because it makes them able to feel superior(edited: Like ms. high and mighty is claiming to BE superior right here on this OP). If they actually knew about the issues they would feel like complete dumb-asses!(edited: And one only "knows about the issues" if they agree with ms. high and mighty)

I wrote another post and asked her if she deleted my first post and why? I was not mean spirited. I saved that for here at good ol DU.

That happened when I first got married and my wife's family loved Reagan...we haven't talked to them in 29 years...that includes the birth of our two children, the marriage of our son, and the death of my father in law...fuck anybody who is a red neck I have no use for them...Awww, look how sweet and cuddly they are to those that don't agree with them. Sooooo tolerant, that they need to constantly remind us because we'd never know it otherwise.

A friend (not a family member) joined one of those Facebook groups called "I vow not to support any politician who votes for socialized medicine." So, in the comments section, I typed two simple words: "Including Medicare?"

She deleted my post.

I'm telling you, these right-wingers DON'T WANT people to know the whole story on healthcare. I have a sneaking suspicion that MOST of them know that what they're spouting is bullshit, but just hope that they can coat it in so much fear-speech that nobody will dare try to find out the truth for themselves. I swear, you try to educate these people and all they do is stick their fingers in their ears and shout, "LA LA LA!!!"Yes, because if you accept one entitlement from the government you have to agree with EVERY new entitlement program the liberals want to start.

Just like theoretically we didn't say anything about the debt President Bush was running up, so therefore we HAVE TO agree with Obama running up 4 times the amount in 1 year as Bush did in 8 years. How DARE we speak out against it. And they say they are the intelligent rational ones! No. They are just plain dumb or they figure we're dumb and they can shut down debate and opposition by using this tactic. SOOORRRYY it's not working.

And yes lefties, we know the only "whole story on health care" is the one you tout even if it is not true.

7. The question is "WHY"? Why don't they want to know the truth even if it means better

things for them? Why does my mother seem to want to believe that the country is going to Hell in a pot because of the deficit but said nothing when Bush caused the same type. Why the Hell does she insist on saying that we went to war because of 9/11, ("Iraq didn't attack us Ma" my usual retort)Better things as defined by WHO? They seem to conveniently forget about Afghanistan and Sadam's consistent broken agreements and the UN's and the Democrats involvement.

11. I ignore that part of family -But I always tell them what uninformed ignorant hateful sheep they are

constantly repeating the same bullshit they hear on hate radio & hate TV (Fox news) So I just ignore them and tell them to fuck off.
And then probablywhines about how his/her family totally ignores and is hateful toward him/her.

Maraya1969, you've handled this well. I had to ditch most all of my rightwing friends and family members since I cannot tolerate their willful ignorance. You said it best: "their misinformed, egotistical, sanctimonious ignorance.." Believe it or not, I had a couple of friends come away from the dark side. ;) But educating one of them is a rare thing.

Good luck to you.Good grief, no wonder they are so angry, hateful and miserable all the time. If anything they have been worse since Obama was elected.

When a crack addict gets more crack they are even harder to get along with then when they couldn't get enough!

I wish I had the time and effort to write a book called The Hypocrisy Garden Called The Democratic Underground. In it would be nothing but quotes taken directly from DU posters then having these posts put up against other posts pointing out their hypocrisy. For example using the examples above, find a thread/post about how intolerant conservatives are then finding stuff like this where they call anyone who disagrees with their worldview "teabaggers" and "red necks"(which I'm guessing that there are no such thing as red neck Democrats:rolleyes:). Double points if you can find stuff like this posted by the same person. Just by labeling those who disagree as "red necks" is akin to racism let alone elitism.

A crack addict will do anything for his next fix. I knew a guy once who went from a lavish lifestyle to his parent's house because he got hooked on the pipe. He even strung out his wife on that shit so she could crackwhore for them both. He showed up with a non-working toaster oven once that he wanted to trade for crack.

The only thing more addicting than crack is a government tit.

Years ago I ran into similar occurrences with the friends I hung around with then. When they get more, within 20 minutes they start getting paranoid and wanting more. Craziest thing you have ever seen!

Indeed.
The thing is, they've always been consumed with hatred against anyone who disagrees with them on any political, religious, or moral topic.
It got them through the Bush years (At the cost of the self- imposed severing of ties with their family and friends who committed the horrible crime of disagreeing with them), but when Obama got elected, their hatred of conservatives was revealed to be kind of like the water- hauling broom from 'The Sorceror's Apprentice': They could get it to start, but couldn't make it stop.
So, their hatred still very much intact, and now compounded by vastly- overinflated egos from Obama's election (people's character flaws tend to be massively worsened when accompanied with arrogance and egotism), they've become even more vicious and bigoted against those who disagree with them, especially when such people are open and outspoken on their opinions, as the DUmmies and ultra- libs in general tend to believe that those who disagree with them do not have the right to free speech and thus should stay completely silent (Hence their rapidly- growing hatred against tea partiers, conservative political commentators, Sarah Palin, etc.), which in turn has also caused them to be even more bitter, miserable, and hate- filled than usual.
It really is sad.

Yes, because if you accept one entitlement from the government you have to agree with EVERY new entitlement program the liberals want to start. This is why I believe the answer is YES, including Medicare. Once we are on the gov't titty, it is nearly impossible to ween off it. Repeal this crap. repeal Medicare and privatize Social Insecurity.
