WASHINGTON President Obama on Wednesday signed legislation that bans the U.S. Postal Service from shipping cigarettes a measure that's expected to cripple the mail-order tobacco businesses run by members of the Seneca Nation of Indians.

White House press secretary Robert L. Gibbs announced the signing in a brief statement that included no comment on the new law, which the Senecas fought furiously.

In response, Seneca Nation President Barry E. Snyder Sr. accused the president of betraying the very Indian nations he wooed during his 2008 campaign and spoke to last fall.

"The president of the United States invited Native American leaders to Washington, D.C., in November and looked us in the eye as a sign of good faith in his pledge to protect federal treaties," Snyder said. "Now, four months later, he has betrayed that promise."

Well, now the Seneca nation can join the rest of us because the president broke our treaty(Constitution) too.

I bitched about the cigarette tax, and then I quit smoking. OK, so I object to how it came about, but can I say that I would have quit had cigarettes not become a major budget item? Probably not.

Do citizens of the Indian Nations get to vote in our US elections?

I'm not up on the laws surrounding them. If I recall correctly, their lands (reservations)
are considered separate from the US. So do they get the right to vote in US elections?

And you know what? Even after this fucking over, A great majority of Native Americans would still vote for Barky when he runs again.

Just like all of those people in Califonia that have no water for their crops. You think that for all their crying and bitching thoe people are going to vote for any other party than Democrat?

I've heard Obama called a lot of things, and I have participated enthusiastically in a few such oral orgies..........but I have NEVER heard him referred to as "paleface"!:)

That's the colour his face will go, when he sees what happens in November. The damage he has done, both in the US, and overseas, will take a long time to repair.

If ever.

This is yet another, in a long string of lies and deceptions.

(Oh yeah, I forgot, this coward has me on ignore. You're going to miss out on a lot of threads and topics, genius.)

Under law they are considered both Citizens of their tribe and the US. They have suffrage in both State and Federal Elections *Utah being the Last to give Indian's the vote in 1956. However they don't have to pay Federal Income and Business taxes, thus Casino's. (the way the support the state and local Governments is through tourist spending their money in the local community). (though i could be wrong on the tax part)
