There's the specific question, and here's the actual data from Fox News (FAIR AND BALANCED):

NOPE. It was a FOX NEWS poll, the ONLY source that is Fair and Balanced, the ONLY source that isn't a Socialist Organization (like those 'other' damn communist news networks with all of their corporate sponsors and profit incentives)

These polls very from poll to poll. Just like any other. Now if you get 3 or more in a row, all saying the same, then I'll put more worry into it. Beyond that, who cares.

Just goes to show you the power of the media to shape public opinion.

The tea party has been smeared mercilessly from the beginning, what else would you expect when the media is lying like they are, and those that depend on the mainstream media for their information think the tea party have murdered hundreds of people by now.

Here's the poll question: "In general, do you think the Obama Administration has increased taxes for most Americans, decreased taxes for most Americans or have they kept taxes the same for most Americans?"

The answer:
• 24 percent of respondents said they INCREASED taxes.
• 53 percent said they kept taxes the same
• And 12 percent said taxes were decreased.

Of people who support the grassroots, "Tea Party" movement, only 2 percent think taxes have been decreased, 46 percent say taxes are the same, and a whopping 44 percent say they believe taxes have gone up.

He went on: "Is it part of the frustration, of course, 95 percent of working people in this country saw their taxes cut last year, but apparently only 12 percent felt it."

Gibbs later said that many Americans may have seen any federal tax cuts offset by an increase in state taxes. "What happens at a federal level and state level, both of those are felt by individuals on the ground," he said.

Well, it looks to me like this is primarily a name recognition poll. You have elected officials, two political parties, one grassroots movement (much derided) and one government agency (much derided).

It's kind of bizarre to draw any conclusions here. What? The President is more popular than the IRS? The Tea Party is more popular than the Speaker of the House? That tells you what, exactly?

Fox isn't a dedicated polling company any more than Yahoo or CNN. Polls are as good as the thought that goes into them and most polls aren't that good taken individually - for either side.

I believe it. The IRS sends a lot of people checks every April.

Does the Tea Party send people money? They haven't sent me any money.

Except that the poll question clearly indicates an option for (can't say) as well as (never heard of), so simple name recognition is taken into account.

Absolutely, the President is very well liked despite the divisiveness of our current political atmosphere.

The Tea Party is more popular than the Speaker of the House? That tells you what, exactly?

It tells me that more people who recognize "Tea Party" like them than people who recognize "Nanci Pelosi".

The majority of anger (from across the political spectrum, including myself) has been directed at congress, so for those who are informed enough to know who the Speaker of the House is, it's not surprising to me that they disapprove of her.

lol yeah but you know why I chose this poll. It doesn't matter if I'm using published research studies, if I'm using official government numbers, if I'm using CBO numbers or poll results or anything, everyone here just ignores it all and claims "LIBERAL BIAS LIBERAL BIAS".

For those who aren't bright enough to realize what you just stated here, for those who worship Fox News as a broadcaster of truth, a poll like this should stop them dead in their tracks.

However, despite my own disdain for the Fox News Network, the PDF file included shows the details of exactly what and how they asked, so in that respect it's a bit more legitimate than the sources we normally see posted around here.

The Tea Party is busting Obama and liberals balls. Trying to smear them is going to backfire. Wait till Nov and we will see who is more popular. The old saying in golf "drive for show and putt for dough" is appropriate. After the slaughter, who will remember this poll (only We We).

The poll specifically says it will name "individuals", and four of the entities named aren't individuals.

Yes the ARE misinformed - most of those who the administration says got tax cuts did NOT - they got a welfare check.

Meanwhile, they will be paying thousands more in taxes due to the other taxes the administration has raised.

Idiots like you fell for it.

BTW dumb ass, lets look at new taxes we all will face.

The new Medicare tax on investors in the health care bill has just been increased from 2.9 percent to 3.8 percent.

40% excise tax on health coverage in excess of $8,500 (individuals) / $23,000 (families)

Impose annual fee on manufacturers and importers of branded drugs – begins in 2010 – $22 B tax increase

Cut in half (to $500K) the amount of an executive’s compensation that a health plan can deduct from its corporate income taxes – begins in 2013 . . .

Impose 5% excise tax on cosmetic surgery and similar procedures – begins for surgery in 2010 – $6 B tax increase!

New taxes on uninsured individuals ($900 per individual or $3800 per family),

New taxes on cosmetic surgery,

New taxes on medical devices ($80b in new taxes), and on certain health-care plans. ($54 B tax increase)

In fact over the next ten years, $3,000,000,000,000 in tax increases in the President's budget

He may have cut income taxes for many Americans, but he's jacking taxes up all around to grab that cash he's letting them keep, and then some through other means. So he's basically handing them a dollar with one hand, while picking their pocket and taking all their cash with the other hand.

The problem with that is, for Wee Wee to apply the Preparation H, he'd have to remove his head from rectal defalade....and judging from past performance, I doubt he is capable of doing that.
