Chicago-area immigration reform activists upset about a tough new law in Arizona are planning a protest outside the Cubs-Diamondbacks game.
The four-game series is slated to begin Thursday afternoon at Wrigley Field.

Arizona's law makes it a state crime to be in the United States illegally and lets police question anyone they suspect of being an illegal immigrant. The law is slated to take effect this summer.

Activists around the country have called for a boycott of Arizona tourism and of state businesses, including its athletic teams.

Organizers say the protest is a way for ordinary people to show their displeasure over the law.

Because the Arizona Diamondbacks had so much to do with enacting this law.

The entire neighborhood is nuts during Cubs' games. I can't imagine they'll get enough people protesting to even cause a scene. Of course I'm sure the media will be covering it extensively.

Yeah, the major league teams take pretty good care of that anymore. Pre-9/11, not so much. I remember players from the Dominican used to occasionally have trouble getting into Canada for games.

If it helps the Cubs win... I'm all for it.

Next year is THIS YEAR!

They lost. As usual

Around the top of the 4th there were some crowd wide booing. Just had a short clip of stadium staff taking about 4-5 people out, but they never said what it was about, as they all were in Cubs shirts. Could have been any thing.
