Fremont County Judge Timothy O'Grady recently stated that law enforcement officials did not meet the burden of proof that the "Shotgun Geniez" strip club was not qualified for the exemption. Pat Trueman, special counsel to the Alliance Defense Fund and former chief federal obscenity prosecutor for the Justice Department, says the Supreme Court has unfortunately ruled strip clubs are legal in some circumstances.

...

Prosecutors only filed charges after learning that a 17-year-old girl, who had entered the club illegally, was allowed to strip for patrons. But the club's owners claimed the "artistic nudity" loophole protected them and that they were not responsible for the actions of the child. The local judge agreed...

Why in hell does America, the land of the free, have a government office called the 'Chief Federal Obscenity Prosecutor'? We might as well call this branch of the Justice Department the 'Approved for Consumption Information Ministry'. Seriously, WTF?

So, a kid broke the law and did something illegal, yet the club owner is the responsible party? What the hell? I think not. I think this girl's mama needs to snatch her up by her hair and knock some smarts into her. Not only did this girl degrade herself publicly, she brought a legitimate business owner who's only crime is meeting demand with supply, into her mess.

More importantly, why is it that a 17-year-old girl has the right to "artistic self-expression" under the First Amerndment, but I don't have the right to political self-expression if it violates McCain-Feingold? Doesn't anybody think that, whatever the merits of strippers and artistic pole dancing, that political speech is just a little more important and deserving of protection?

In Texas a girl can strip at 17 at a totally nude club but not at a tittie bar. She can dance buck naked at 17 but cannot dance tits out until 18. Something about alcohol not being served at totally nude clubs in Texas.
