Normally, I would post this in the Whiny Zone but there are some actually important threads there right now, so I'm posting this here.
For those new to my saga: the previous owners of my property attempted to "naturalize" a large garden in front of my house. They succeeded in a kind of horrifying way. For several years I have torn up, chemically killed, and actually burned their efforts. Sadly, this has been less effective than one might imagine. This year, I enlisted the help of Mr. Snaps. Mr. Snaps ordinarily does not do "living things".
He still does not. Tonight he presented me with a Master Plan that involves the construction of hardscape, a $600 buck lion fountain, 2 stone benches, low-voltage lighting, and a new emergency landing plan for flights out of DIA. I believe there was something about "suitable" plants and non-exempt labor but I was having trouble breathing so I may have missed some of the finer points.
Being married to a competent guy has many pleasures. A lack of anxiety isn't one of them.

Those of us with more than one brain cell deduced that since Ginger lives in COLORADO - DIA must of course mean DENVER INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT.

It isn't his "object" - it's a side effect of being solar/eclectically inclined. The way a fascination for Miley Cyrus can sometimes devolve into kiddie porn.

I love those things in BF2. I like to put them on fighters and helos. Get lots of kills when you torch a full helo right after it takes off.
And it really pisses of the flyers, who are the most arrogant bastards who play BF2, so that's a good thing.

Okay, so we had our final planning conversation about this project.
I explained my "vision". He discussed how limited that was and started making WWII analogies. I was like, "Dude, this isn't the invasion of Normandy".
Then he started mocking my "vision" in that Golem voice.
Game over. We're getting marble and a Lion fountain.

Sort of. Except there are four with a basin and some kind of object on top. Really, grad school didn't prepare me to explain this.

You people simply have no compassion for my situation; I wanted weeding and ground cover removal. I got infrastructure and some kind of hideous marital quid pro quo.

Fence off the "garden" and throw a dozen chickens in there for a couple of weeks. There will be nothing left but chemically contaminated chickens and bare ground. Plant your garden and eat the chickens to get high.
