Why? Because where they were drilling is FEDERAL WATERS? Therefore the responsibility of the federal government and more so BP because it's their screw up. You are such a turd I sometimes wonder if you can even stand yourself. Jindal wants to build pontoons but cannot without action from the federal government. And Obama is dragging his feet. Shit. James Carville gets it. Why don't you? And only someone as idiotic as you would politicize this. You are such the liberal. A typical one at that.

The Republicans have spent the last 2 years giving the constant message over and over that Government needs to get out of the way, the key is to deregulate business, big business can handle issues better than the government ever can, and that government isn't the solution, but the problem.

Looks like that message is backfiring now.

Wait lets see - the governments mandated plan for dealing with a LEAK like this is a burn off - BUT OH WAIT! the government would not let them do that. In fact - the GOVERNMENT has stood in the way of just about every solution that people have wanted to try. Barry and Co blocked Jendal from making sandbars to keep the oil off the coast - they've blocked burn off - they've blocked the deployment of booms . . . . But they have allowed this to develop into a workable crisis. GO FIGURE.

This disaster has nothing to do with deregulation dumbass. Shit happens. Disasters happen. If you weren't such a fucktard you'd understand that.

Again..............

http://www.epa.gov/oilspill/index.htm

EPA seeks to prevent, prepare for, and respond to oil spills that occur in and around inland waters of the United States. EPA is the lead federal response agency for oil spills occurring in inland waters, and the U.S. Coast Guard is the lead response agency for spills in coastal waters and deepwater ports. To learn more about our oil pollution activities, please visit the following links:..............more

Also:

http://www.epa.gov/emergencies/programs.htm

EPA programs help ensure that facilities and organizations take steps to prevent oil spills, chemical accidents, and other emergencies, implement planning and preparedness requirements, and respond to environmental emergencies.

The federal gov. has many plans to deal with this type of disaster. Their seeming lack of timely response is again a show of how inept large bureaucracies are.
Can't you just wait for this type of organization and thinking to take over the Health Care industry??

Not at all Wei. Several key points you miss.

1) The Obama administration is PREVENTING the states (specifically Louisiana) from building enough berms to protect their shorelines AND it took them two weeks to allow them to build any at all!

2) The Disaster itself happened in Federal waters and it was primarily the Federal government's job to keep it from spreading to other areas.

3) It was the regulations that made it so much more difficult to stop the oil in the first place. Regulations prevented this well from being drilled closer into shore where shutting off the flow of oil would have been MUCH easier.

4) After the accident, the Obama administration prevented BP from enacting their original, preferred plan to stop the leak, and forced them to try other methods instead. Now, after a month, of government forced failures, they finally allowed BP to enact it's original plan!!! Guess what, this original plan seems to be working!!! Imagine that!, the bureaucrats knew less about stopping the leak than the professionals did!!!

5) This administration awarded this VERY RIG, for being exemplary!!!

6) You mistakenly think that conservatives believe there is no role for the government.

7) Jindahl was frustrated with the liberal method of solving things - specifically sitting around and talking about it- instead of actually DOING SOMETHING!
