Well I know SLW hates Florida but ya'd never know it right now as she's in the pool floating around.

I'm sitting here sipping my Rum & Coke poolside.
:D

I just called a place on Siesta Key for Brunch tomorrow, a joint called Turtle's and it's only $8.99 a person. Hopefully it won't taste like that price but we'll see.

It hit in the 90's today and the pool is 91. Very humid today.

We took a drive up to Clearwater today to go to CostCo, nice drive over the Sunshine Skyway bridge. They are supposed to be building a new CostCo near us but it won't be ready till 2012. Or so they told us.

I think my dear will have to admit there are worse places to live than Sarasota, Florida.

What did you all do today???

The pool is your only saving grace.:)

I would not expect too much for $8.99. Chicken cooked 3 different ways.

I know, it's not going to be the Sarasota Yacht Club most likely. :D

If SLW can ever get dressed we'll go and find out.

I've found some great meals in that price range, you never know until you try it.

In Las Vegas I had a killer breakfast buffet for $8.99....many of the items were made to order.

I think I drank $9 worth of juice. :D

I have found very few buffet's that were worth a crap. Rosie O Grady in Pensacola used to have a seafood crepes buffet that was to die for. The Smorgasbord at the Space Needle in Seattle was very good. Other than that most of them stunk.

Passed thru Vegas when I was 17. Heard they had some good eats there.

Well the food was very good but it wasn't an All ya can eat brunch, you ordered off of a menu.

We both had fish dishes that were damn good for $8.99. :) We had a nice table inside overlooking Little Sarasota Bay.

That probably worked out for the best. I am not that fond of eating with/around grazers.:)

The dangerous part of buffets is if a busload of weight watchers going off the wagon shows up..............................:D

That is not half as bad as (4) three to hundred pound mamas attacking the serving line all at one time. Hint, you need to sit across the room from them cause the building is going to start tilting, and you want to try to stablize your side of the room. Also, do not get between them and food. Have you ever seen one of these hefers put a whole drumstick in their mouth and suck all the meat off it in one clean swoop?

I took my mom to a local casino buffet that is close to both of our houses. Turns out they are installing new kitchen equipment so only had a limited menu and the plates were plastic. It was $4 a person...I had a huge salad, and some other stuff...plus frozen custard for desert. It was very good for four bucks...in fact it would of been good for ten bucks...

Three resturants were having to share one dishwasher & oven....so they were also just open limited hours. I did not know about any of this until we got there, but was very happy with the end result. They even had a stir fry station up and running....made to order. My mom had a very nice looking shrimp stir fry with rice.

I dropped her off (we were in the golf cart!) and then I headed to the swimming pool for a couple hours...life is good.

Do you mean to say . . . . that SLW is a NUDIST!?!?

Of course not, just needed to change from my grungy clothes that I wear when cleaning around the house to other casual clothes.

BTW, the food was very good for the price. SR had a crab-lobster casserole and I had haddock. They included some tasty potatoes and an order of asparagus. Also included drinks. I had a mimosa, SR had a bloody Mary. Very nice indeed for $8.99 a person. The view alone was worth the price.

Seems the snowbirds have left, and all the restaurants around here are advertising specials to attract customers. Turtles regular meals at night range from about $12 to $24. We got their brunch special.

well why didn't he say "get changed" if that's what he meant. Sheesh. Sith admins can take the cryptic bits too far sometimes . . . ;)
