Hotter than a fresh fucked fox in a forest fire. High today near 100, heat index 110.

TOTD: Everyone has had a bad break up. Everyone has that one song that really hit home during that time. What happened? Why did the song hit home for you?

I've given more bad breakups than I've sustained. My breakup song would be The Waitresses' "No Guilt". Some of the references are dated, but hey, I haven't dated since 1985.

Needed new posters, so I bought them
I know the cost of stamps now
the thirty-first is when I pay the phone bill
I told them I don't even know anybody in Toronto

Everyday at seven I've been watching Walter
I've been reading more and looking up the hard words
I met people who get me on the guest list
My parents said that they would help me pay for grad school

You know I had never washed a sweater
I never knew when my hair was to long
I got the catcalls out of my hi-fi
I learned a lot since you've been gone
I've done a lot since you've been gone

Not bitter-beat the vicious cycle
Typecast as the model couple
I'm sorry but I don't feel awful
It wasn't the end of the world
I'm sorry I can't be helpless
It wasn't the end of the world

I know someone who really met Belushi
I fixed the toilet so it doesn't always run
I moved a chair over by the window
I feel better if my laundry's done

Getting by on less sleep then I used to
I had no trouble setting up a desk
I learned the reason for a three-pronged outlet
I got 100 on my drivers test

I got a trick to get them to deliver
I called the landlord when the water turned brown
Did you know I own some valuable records?
I've done a lot since you've been gone
I've learned a lot since you've been gone

We will start to clear up today with highs in the high 60s. It will rain on and off but very briefly as this system moves out.

TOTD: I was more of a dumper than a dumpee. I'm sure I listened to music when I've been dumped but I can't recall anything specific. Whatever it was, it was probably Delta Blues since that's my go-to format for rolling around in misery. :D

My ex wife was cheating on me. We had both went in the Navy. Being the smarter of the two, I actually went through a year and a half of school before being stationed on a ship. She went straight to the decks. I was still in Great Lakes, IL. She was already in Norfolk, VA. A couple weeks before my moving to Norfolk, we got an apartment. I lived in it alone because she didn't want to drive all the way from Newport News to Va Beach every day. I looked the other way for a while, but finally had enough.

Around that time, this song came out.......

Sick, I know. I don't get sad. I get PISSED.

I've caused more bad breakups than I have experienced. The only bad break up I experienced myself had me wallowing in this song:

I didn't really cause that many bad breakups. I just vaporized.

I meant in other couples. I was the 'other guy' quite a few times back in the day.

Cloudy, looks like rain

TOTD: never had any bad break ups including my divorce. Afterwards, she wanted to keep in contact but I broke it off completely. That was hard to do because I had some great in-laws.

It's rainy and in the 70s. I feel badly for the kids at the school behind my office-they are having field day, and they get started for a while, then it starts raining again.

I've never had a bad break-up because I have always been the one to break up, not him. My high school boyfriend went around IHOP (where we both worked) and told all the male staff there I was easy. One of the other cooks beat him up for his lies. He specifically told them that I had "done it" with him when he took me to the Ted Nugent concert. He didn't take me to that concert, he allegedly went with his buddies, and the cook who beat him up knew that.

We didn't have a break-up song, though. I like to sing "I Used To Love Her" by GNR and just change the gender to him, when I think of this boyfriend.

Looks like another thunderstorm is rolling in.

Breakups, I've had my share. I can still see the look in all of their eyes when that first shovelful of dirt hit their faces. Things were less complicated back then.

I have had 3.5 major relationships. In all I was the one who left.
Only one (the .5) was what I'd call a bad breakup. I stayed much
long than I should have. That was the only one that I really loved,
and he shattered my heart. Once I finally let it sink in that he was
screwing around with other women, I was done. This was that
most memorable break-up song for me:

CWFC5MXX-6E

So upset, a nervous wreck, can't believe you said goodbye.
Sit and smoke, cry and joke about these tears in my eyes.
How could you do what you've gone and done to me?
I wouldn't treat a dog the way you treated me,
But that's what I get, I've come to expect it from you.

A million times, a million lines, and I bought ‘em, every one.
You don't care, you rip and tear every dream I've counted on.
I guess that I should thank my unlucky stars
That I'm alive and you're the way you are,
But that's what I get, I've come to expect it from you.

How could you do what you've gone and done to me?
I wouldn't treat a dog the way you treated me,
But that's what I get, I've come to expect it from you.
I could raise hell, but what the hell
It wouldn't do a bit of good.

Pack and leave, my heart agrees; it seems to think that I should.
There won't be no more next time doin' me wrong.
You'll come back this time to find out that I'm gone,
But that's what you get, you should expect that from me.
That's what I get, I've come to expect it from you.

In my case, it wasn't as much the break up itself, but it was what happened after. The woman that I saw as a mentor and a crying shoulder took my ex-boyfriend as crumbs from my table and started dating him w/o even a heads up. . .it convinced me that she was without honor and a sad, desperate cvnt. She and her friends wanted to make me look stupid and parade him in front of me, but someone short circuited it, with 7 words, "She knows, and she's happy for you."
She lost it.
