Ringmaster Attila Endresz hopes it will attract the public to John Lawson’s Circus, which opens in Newent, Gloucestershire, next week.

In a poll, coulrophobia was our No.3 terror behind spiders and needles.

'It is surprising how many people seem to be frightened of clowns,' Enderesz said.

'Although you would always expect to see a clown at the circus, some people react with terror. And I'm talking about the adults.'

'The situation has been made worse by the media,' he added.

'There are many horror films such as Stephen King's It or even The Joker in Batman that portray the clown in a sinister light, and have subsequently heightened the fear of the clown.'link (http://www.metro.co.uk/news/831202-circus-offers-free-counselling-to-anyone-with-a-fear-of-clowns)

I wonder if they could address a specific fear of a murderous clown getting into your house and chasing you around because you left the garage door open?

The clown would be really messy and he'd leave terrible scuff marks on the floors with his big old shoes. And he'd do the big job in the bathroom and forget to flush.

The sheer perversion needed to not only find this pic but to post it is pretty much beyond the reach of normal minds.

The only clowns I ever saw as a kid were Bozo, who was too silly to be scary, and the ones at the Shriner's Circus, who were more of the Emmet Kelly type of clown than the scary kind.

The only clowns that freak me out are the one in It and those french freaks at the Cirque du queer. I'm not really big on mimes, either.
