A majority of likely voters think "socialist" is a fair description for President Obama, according to a new poll that looks at how well Obama's critics have been able to tag him with that buzzword and its often negative connotations.

The poll by Democracy Corps, the firm of James Carville and Stan Greenberg, estimates that 55 percent of likely voters believe "socialist" is a somewhat accurate description of Obama. Poll respondents were asked about a list of words and how well they related to Obama.

When asked about "a socialist," 33 percent of likely voters said it described Obama "very well," 22 percent said "well," 15 percent said "not too well," and 25 percent said "not well at all."

A majority of likely voters, 56 percent, also found that Obama is too liberal 35 percent saying it describes him as "very well," 21 percent saying "well," another 21 percent saying "not too well" and 17 percent saying "not well at all.

About the same number who do not know that "dont" is supposed to have an apostrophe between the "n" and the "t".

Fuck off, genius.

Two farmers, Enoch Turner and Jasper Pike, were debating politics one Sunday after church. Now, Jasper fancied himself to be a socialist, so Enoch took him to task regarding his friends position.

"So, Jasper, under this here socialism of yours, if you had two tractors and I had none, you'd give me one of yours?"

"That's right," proclaimed Jasper.

"And if you had two hay rakes and I didn't own any, you'd give me one of them?"

"That's right, now you are beginning to see why socialism is so much better."

Enoch scratched his head for a moment then asked, "If you had two hogs, say, and I had none, you'd give me one of those too?"

Jasper Pike stared back at his fellow farmer and replied angrily, "Darn you, Enoch Turner, you know I got two hogs!"

There is a member of the socialist party in congress, he should speak out.

A socialist is a communist who has run out of bullets.

You must be deaf, dumb and blind.
In all fairness, he is right, and it happens so rarely that we should acknowledge it. Bernie Sanders is not a Democrat (although he caucuses with them), but a member of the Socialist Party.

Now, what I'd love to do is compare Sanders' voting record with Obama's (for the brief period that Obama was a senator) and see how often those records diverged. If there's no difference, then perhaps someone can explain to me why Sanders is a Socialist, but Obama isn't.

I did not say Sanders is a Democrat; I said he is a Democratic Socialist and is a proponent of EU governments.

Secondly, We We said that this socialist should speak out more often. My response was; are you deaf, dumb and blind. Bernie Sanders runs his mouth off quite often.

Call him what you want but he is the biggest fuck up since Jimmy Carter. The majority of Americans have that view.

Right because nationalizing control of whole industries is a very capitalist thing to do. But you are right. He's not a socialist. He's a Fascist. He lets people keep ownership - and regulates and controls the industry by government fiat and regulation. It's socialism with a capitalist veneer.

The deal is, Obama wants the U.S. to be a European-style socialist country which is funny when you think about it. How is that style of socialism working out for Italy, Greece, and Spain?

Much more dangerous than Carter. Carter was just an idiot. B Hussein obama is just smart enough to know what he wants to do. In my opinion, this administration is bordering on dictatorship. He's bypassing Congress at will with little criticism from them for his actions.

We're one election from losing this Democratic Republic. We've got to have at least one House of Congress. If we don't take back majority in at least one in November to sidetrack his agenda, it could be over.

This. Even if he's not a socialist... let's put it like this: I'm waiting for him to claim a rabbit attacked him.

Why? Because you say so? Has Bernie Sanders opposed anything that Obama has proposed as president? For that matter, have President Obama's policies deviated from Senator Obama's votes? Is he any more supportive of the armed forces (GEN McChrystal would say no, as would anyone who has seen his planned cutbacks)? Has he opposed expansion of entitlements in either capacity? Has he reigned in government control of the private sector or has he used crises as an excuse to expand government and nationalize whole industries?

This. Even if he's not a socialist... let's put it like this: I'm waiting for him to claim a rabbit attacked him.

LOL Carter didn't simply claim that he was attacked, there's video. Apparently, even nature rebelled against his administration.

A rat ran past Obama's podium at a press conference, but he was too focused on the teleprompter to notice it.

To be fair Germany is doing quite alright, and if you were to assign a Euro country which reflects Obama's policies the closest it would be the Deutschland.

That is not what Chancellor Merkel stated at the recent G20 convention. She proposed to cut taxes by 2010/2011. However, budget cuts are not on the table.

Let's compare that to the Magic Negro and his Administration. Larry Summers, top economic advisor, does not think we are spending enough and wants another several hundred billion dollar stimulus program passed. He also does not think that the deficit is a problem. If Congress does not act, Federal Income Tax rates will go up dramatically. BTW, the health bill was supposed to be revenue neutral but we find out now find out from the CBO that is not the case. Cap and trade is another tax increase on everyone including the poor and the middle class if passed. In other words, Obama words do not reflect reality. Obama is a tax and spend politician whereas politicians like Merkel realize they have a problem. Your O does not.

Conclusion: you are woefully ignorant with the statement you made above. We do not have a section for tiddlywinks but you should seriously STFU about financial matters.

End of mission. Target destroyed. :D

Hardly. Obama's green jobs initiative is based on Spain's (and the Spanish are abandoning it, as it creates 1 green job for every 22 conventional jobs that it destroys), his massive overspending looks far more like Greece than Germany, and his proposed military cuts resemble the French.
