Ethics Committee Finds Rangel Likely Broke Rules
July 22, 2010 — 5:17 p.m.

The House ethics committee announced Thursday that an investigative subcommittee has found substantial reason to believe that Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-N.Y.) violated House rules or even broken the law, following a nearly two-year investigation into allegations involving his personal finances, fundraising efforts and other issues.

Charlie Rangel is a political rapist. I think his days raping tax payers by using his office are numbered.

Rangle is just another corrupt Democrat, caught in an election year with the House facing serious losses. My, my! The Democrats will need a lot of white wash to distance themselves from him.

BUT! Where are the criminal charges? I doubt that we'll see any. He might choose not to run for re-election because he's facing serious challenges in his district. Then everything will simply disappear.

RANGEL PROBERS AWOL
ETHICS INQUIRY STALLS AS POLS LEAVE PANEL

(snip)

Nobody's home at the House ethics committee that's supposed to be investigating Rep. Charles Rangel.

The panel created on Sept. 24 to probe the Harlem Democrat's alleged ethical lapses has been virtually disbanded, after meeting only twice in four months on the matter, The Post has learned.

Of the four congressmen named to look into the powerful Ways and Means Committee chairman, only one remains - Alabama Republican Jo Bonner. The three others left the Rangel probe last month when they were "rotated" off the 10-member Committee on Standards of Official Conduct.

The dormant investigation won't be jump-started until three incoming ethics committee members are assigned to the Rangel probe later this month.

Because the committee conducts its work in secret, it is not clear if any progress has been made on the Rangel investigation. In the committee's recently released 100-page report on its work in the 110th Congress, only four paragraphs mention the Rangel probe, listing five alleged ethics breaches and noting that the panel had not been able to complete the investigation.

It's not like he was cheating on his wife and had to pay off the lady through his parents to keep her quiet.

Or wearing diapers while hiring prostitutes.

Rangel says he’s ready to fight ethics charges

By LARRY MARGASAK (AP)

July 23, 2010

WASHINGTON — Rep. Charles Rangel, who has spent half of his 80 years as a member of Congress, says he looks forward to fighting ethics charges. Other Democrats won’t be so pleased.

The ethics trial sought by the New York congressman and former Ways and Means Committee chairman will coincide with campaign season. Democrats will have to defend their party’s conduct. If enough of them lose, the party could cede control of the House......

[Rangel's] lawyer had been negotiating with the House ethics committee to settle his case. But to end it, Rangel would have had to accept the allegations. Rangel had been willing to accept some, but that didn’t satisfy the committee, according to a person familiar with the talks but not authorized to be quoted by name.

"I look forward to airing this thing," Rangel, who is tied for fourth in House seniority, told reporters Thursday, insisting the allegations against him have no substance.

"I am pleased that, at long last, sunshine will pierce the cloud of serious allegations that have been raised against me in the media," he said.

But he meant well. But if he accidently helped a white person under this administration, his goose is cooked.

He is a tax cheat who just happens to be the ex chairman that writes the IRS tax laws. He owes tens of thousands of dollars on rental property in the Caribbean. The federal pen. is loaded with tax evaders like this clown. However, if you are a Democrat, no problem. I think the ethics committee is looking into violation of House rules rather than these criminal charges. I wonder if Holder will sweep this under the rug.

No, he is the author of the US tax code, and a tax cheat who has hidden assets and failed to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars in taxes. Aside from the blatant hypocrisy of his actions, it speaks to a level of corruption that is far more serious than a sex scandal. A politician who places himself above the laws that he writes is a symptom of the corrupt, self-declared aristocracy that runs our government, but believes itself immune from the law, the the Constitution or even criticism.

Rangel is a tax cheat and belongs in prison with Geithner. He should be expelled.

A Lazy bum like you that does not pay taxes would not understand the concept of tax evasion which is a Federal crime. Banging a whore is not.

They will. Dems always brazen out scandals. I hope that he tries to play the race card. The more that the sheepherder cries "wolf" the less credibility he has.

Wrong. The House will try him on those charges in September.
