I guess Holder is of the opinion that only white people can be racist.

Well Sona - what do you have to say about this?

So basically the Justice Dept. is going after a law enforcement officer for enforcing the law. Go figure.

Mm..if he has been subpoenaed he really has little choice. Other than that, the issue I see is the claims of illegal search and seizure. The law applies to him as well as others does it not?

On illegal immigration I agree with Arpaio (try not to faint)..but he doesnt have the right to break the law he swore to uphold either. Has he abused his power?

Not according to everything that I've read. The mainstream media huffs and puffs about his racism and his lack of enlightenment by their rarified standards, but there is never an actual allegation of law-breaking.

That's because they don't like him because he's affective. He's not a PC Poor Poor Widdle Inmate/Illegal Needs To Be Handled Like Paper Mache kind of guy. His response to his criticism is always the same: don't break the law and go to jail. It's really that simple.

Agreed. But if he had actually broken the law, the media would have been all over it, for exactly that reason. Since they haven't cited any actual laws broken, it's all based on his effectiveness and his refusal to kowtow to the sensibilites of advocates who support criminal rights from the safety of their gated communities. Of course, with the right judge and the weight of the Justice Department behind it, even the worst-documented case can be pushed through the system, as we've seen with the Arizona suit.

Still, it's funny that in order to figure out if he'd broken the law, we have to read news articles to find what isn't there. It's sort of like reading Pravda or Isvestia, back when there was a USSR, only this time, we're the Samizdat.

On some issues he and I see eye to eye. On others, I disagree vehemently.

I used to live in Pima County(Tucson). We used to call South Tucson "Taco Town" because it was about 90% Mexican.

I keep on top of a lot of world affairs, US included. Arpaio has his admirers here...and many who despise him.

I love Joe's balls to stand up to the Feds.

But from a human rights/liberties standpoint, Joe is one of the World's largest Douchebags. His extreme-right approach to drug addicts makes me wanna vomit. Pure idiocy.
