Power Ballads: Love, Hate, Indifferent

I know we've got some music lovers on here, so I wanted to share a story about power ballads and get your take on it.

A little while ago, I was working on my computer at home with the T.V. on in the background when a mini infomercial came on about a Time Life Series on power ballads from the 1970's and '80's. I rolled my eyes and thought, well, this is going be a cheesy suckfest, and went back to work. Guess what? I frickin' remembered and loved every single one of ballads they played in that commercial. Alone by Heart, Keep on Lovin' you, Can't fight this feelin' anymore, Open Arms....

Well, I was little disappointed in myself, but I finally had to admit that I dig the power ballads. Seriously I was like 17 when the very newest of these songs were made, but they are still pretty good.

What do you guys think about the power ballads?

I voted "don't care". It's not that I dislike those kinds of songs, it's that I very seldom listen to classic rock. I prefer bluegrass, Celtic, or old time ballads.

A few weeks ago I seen April Wine, LA Guns, Skid Row & Firehouse in Grand Island, NE. I was was right in front of the stage and it was a great show.

i voted love em, there are some great ones out there. I lean towards the ones from the 80's. Def Leppard, Poison, Warrant, Skid Row, all those hair bands.
