The board was down when he won wasn't it? What do you guys think of him?

I have been remiss in my attention to western politics outside of the US. I do not know anything about him at the moment but now I am interested that he won. Is he a conservative in the vein of "average or normal" European conservatives or a true conservative?

He is fairly conservative, I mean no one can really go back to Thatcher in this environment, but the man has the right ideas. He has already started cutting back on the last mayor's pork (which was A LOT since the guy was literally a communist, I'm not even exaggerating). I think he is going to devolve more functions to local councils so that less decisions rest with suits in the center of London and more to people who live on the streets that'll be effected.

Sounds like a good start. How are his changes being recieved so far by his constituent's? I am guessing the media is spinning on their eyebrows. :)

He banned drinking on the underground (subway) and everyone had a huge party on it the day before it came into effect and pissed off some people, but I think it is a good start.

Sucks for Boris to look like that. Boris should get a haircut.

He did a big op ed a few months ago saying he supports Hillary Clinton for US President.

That makes him unacceptable in my mind.

Britain likes the Clintons a lot, more than Obama apparently.

Boris has made a great start to the job of Mayor. He has ended Ken Livingstone's showboating oil deal with Chavez and shortly there will be an interim report on the financial mismanagement and crookedness of the previous administration.

He is not only well educated but intelligent too, I loved his description of the media:
...In his inaugural speech, he said that until such time, as his predecessor Ken Livingstone hands him the keys, he “imagine(s) there are shredding machines quietly puffing and panting away in various parts of the building, and quite right too“. A few drinks down, he then let his view of the media - and why leave readers like us blameless? - as being “like some ravening Hyrcanian tiger which has been deprived of its mortal prey — a Johnson blooper” be known.

He also has a small libertarian streak, we'll have to see how things go.

Bijou and I had this conversation a while back. We were both convinced BoJo didn't stand a chance, but he got in anyway.

Anything is better than Ken. Boris has scrapped the 25/day porsche tax in London, so that's a start.

So far, so OK.
