Looks like it will be in Las Vegas on 8/27. I leave on vacation 9/2 so I'll have to skip it. Michael W. Smith is a good man and puts on a very uplifting concert. Six years ago MWS told a friend of mine that he was going to quit tours....glad he is still on stage.

We just pulled in, made it back from Orlando in record time! :D

The concert was fantastic, better than last year and thankfully it was indoors.

The only crappy part was I didn't bring my camera so have no pics. Last year
they didn't allow them (in San Diego) but this year it was ok.

I took a couple on my cell phone but I doubt they will be any good.

Glad to hear it was a good time. Post the pics anyway - some of us are stuck away from home and are bored!

Only took two, here they are:

The 1st was just as Sean was coming onstage...

The second was with Col. North and Sean.

Sorry for the quality but it's just a cell phone camera. :(

The mugs were good (included with the tickets) and the granite here is much higher quality than the stuff we had installed in St Louis.

The concert was fun, especially with Lynrd Skynrd playing "Sweet Home Alabama". Charlie Daniels was excellent as always. Some of his stuff was decidedly not country.

When we got back to the LaQuinta, SR noticed that he had a message on the cell phone. Lucky we left the concert just a little early. The message had come around 10:45pm. It was from the hotel, saying they had some complaints. Our sweet, innocent 3 greys must have been putting on a concert of their own. Seems people thought they were in "distress", and they could be heard all the way down the corridor, at the front desk.

We returned to the room perhaps 10 or 15 minutes after that call. All was quiet. Perhaps our little mischief makers heard the sound of our car going past the room. Whatever, they were so well behaved when we came in the door.

Luckily, nothing was hurt in the room. I think they just did a greyhound "roo". It's sort of a mournful baying. At some greyhound gatherins, there's an official "roo starter", who starts rooing and all the dogs pitch their heads up to the sky and start making this baleful sound. I guess the folks in the other rooms didn't appreciate the rare occurence. I have never heard Darlene or Xena do it. Blue I've heard once.

Sooooo, next time, if the dogs go with us, we will not leave them so long. Their privileges are revoked. We need to find a dogsitter here or pay to have their sitter from St Louis, whom they love, come down for a visit. He's so inexpensive in his charges it would almost be cheaper to get him some bargain airline tickets.

Sounds like you had a nice trip. I love the mugs.

Even with a regular camera it's often hard to get a good picture with all the background lights in such a dark place. You should of flashed your CU press pass so you could of been up close! :D
