View Full Version : Prayer request

I know some of you are prayers, and I do believe in the power of prayer. I am asking for prayer for my beautiful youngest sister. With no symptoms, other than one night of pain.. they thought it was appendicitis, she has been diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. This blindsided all of us. She looks and feels great physically.

She is a young, fit, 45 year old with 2 preteen daughters who need her, and a husband who adores her. She also has 3 sisters, and healthy parents who are not ready to be without her. This pic was taken in happier times, just weeks ago in Cancun. She seems so healthy.

I can understand the shock. It happened the same with my mother, although she was 65 at the time. When she had her first ping of a pain, we found out she was in the final stages of pancreas cancer. 5 weeks to the day we found out she even had it, she was gone. Cancer is such a nasty beast.

But the good thing about colon cancer (if there is such a thing) is that unlike a pancreas, the colon can usually be completely removed. I have a very good friend who had this. They went in and removed several feet of his colon and he's lived a very full and normal life every since. That was about 10 or so years ago.

Your sister looks so young and healthy in that picture, she is a beautiful woman. I am sure she can fight this and win. She and your family will be in my prayers.

My mother goes to church with a woman that has been fighting different cancers for 17 years. Do not give up.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. Sis goes for consultations with Surgeons today. In spite of the horror of this, she is at peace right now. It is surreal because she looks so healthy and pretty. She always took great care of herself. Your continued prayers are so appreciated.
