KABUL Ė Iranian companies are paying militants in Afghanistan to kill American soldiers, according to a report Londonís Sunday Times. The report carried by Fox News says that at least five Iranian companies in Afghanistan's capital are using their offices as channels to pay Taliban militants in provinces near Kabul.

The offices were set up in the past six months to specifically to provide cash for a network of district Taliban treasurers to pay battlefield expenses and bonuses for inflicting as much damage as possible on American forces, Fox reported.

In Iran, these companies compete for contracts to supply materials and logistics to Afghans involved in reconstruction. The money often comes in the form of aid from foreign donors. But thatís just the front, according to Afghan intelligence sources who talked to The Times.

Western officials believe the network may have been set up by the Al-Quds force, an elite branch of Iranís Revolutionary Guard. Iran is paying bonuses of $1,000 for killing an American soldier and $6,000 for destroying a U.S. military vehicle.

We should have taken up a limited war against them the moment it became clear that Iran was financing the Iraq insurgency, and that the Iranian Guard was working inside of Iraq to attack and undermine us. Missile strikes, naval blockades, everything short of a full blown ground invasion.

The kid gloves that we've been treating this country with who has been commiting acts of war against us for years, is beyond appaling.

There's a war coming.
It's been ongoing since 1979. We're just in denial. 9/1 should have been a wake up call, and for some of us, it was, but the left has been hitting the snooze alarm since the first WTC bombing, not to mention the various other terror acts against us. I guarantee that if Iran plants a nuke in an American city, there will still be idiots out there demanding that we exercise restraint while blaming us for their barbarism. Wei, Hazlnut and Arroyo come to mind.

We should have acted with the Iranian resistance to overthrow the regime. The mullahs provide the means to wage jihad to Hezbollah and Hamas, as well as alliances with Sunni extremists like the Muslim Brotherhood. Eliminate Iran's theocracy, and you eliminate the network of support for jihad in their embassies and consulates throughout the world, not to mention the subsidies that they provide to other rogue states. North Korea and Syria depend on Iranian oil and funding. Without that, they are far weaker and less capable of fomenting mischief.

Limited hell. Sounds to me as if they have already decided on war. Now, we need to bomb their Governmental infrastructure, Military bases, power grid and industrial areas into the stone age. Then stop long enough to ask if they are ready to surrender.
Then, we need to let any other burgeoning Towel headed dictators that the same will be in store for them.

What is to be done?

The Iranian state TV company - you know the one which broadcasts "Death to America" etc. and thereby incites Al-Quds force, Iranís Revolutionary Guard and Iranians in general to support actions such as paying the Taliban to kill American soldiers - is called "ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF IRAN BROADCASTING" (IRIB).

Well the IRIB broadcasts on satellites such as

Intelsat 902
Hotbird 8
Asiasat 3S
Asiasat 2
Telstar 12
Galaxy 19
Badr 4
Nilesat 102
Atlantic bird 4

IRIB source - IRIB programmes on Satellites http://www2.irib.ir/tech/frequency/en/default.asp

So if the US wants to change the Iranian regime from one which pays the Taliban to kill American soldiers into a friendly regime then a first step to Iranian regime-change is to stop the Iranian regime broadcasting its propaganda all around the world on satellite TV.

So all the US government has to do is tell the owners of those satellites to stop broadcasting IRIB or action will be taken against the companies and satellites concerned and any others which broadcast anti-American propaganda.

Simply shut up the lying mouths of the Iranian islamo-fascists and all the other anti-American, anti-Western hate channels being broadcast and kill many enemy birds with one stone.

Come on America, Britain, NATO and all - this war is an easy win.

Why is the West's military and intelligence staff so lame and refusing to act against enemy propaganda in a serious and sustained way?

It is the same in Iraq.

It's been ongoing since 1979. We're just in denial.
Conservatives are in denial OK - about the date since this problem has been building from - 1953, not 1979.

A little humility from conservatives would be in order since it was President Eisenhower and Prime Minister Winston Churchill who set the Iranian pressure cooker simmering on a slow boil in 1953 leading to the 1979 blowback when the west (CIA/MI6) overthrew the democratic Iranian government in 1953 in Operation Ajax in favour of the Shah's military dictatorship.

Left and right should put aside our differences for the sake of uniting to fight and win a war against the Islamo-fascists but if we are talking Conservative denial - at least get the date of original sin right.

Thanks.

I hope the welcome lasts. I got banned from the Conservative Cave and from the Democratic Underground. I seem to be equally unacceptable in both the right and left political hideouts of the internet. :(

I'm not sure that she'd be an effective president. Academics tend to be long on theory and short on experience, and in her case, her lack of executive experience often seemed to get her rolled by the permanent bureaucracy at Foggy Bottom. Also, I don't see anything about her positions on economic policy, immigration, the role of the federal vs. state governments (in fact, the videos lack a certain, shall we say, gravitas?) and while I agree with most of her positions on foreign policy, I don't know how she'd react to a crisis.

That being said, I'd vote for her ahead of 99% of the Democrats on the national level, but she's not my first choice among Republicans.
