(Sept. 8) -- Talk about evading death by a whisker! Last week, a 400-lb. male lion attacked a male trainer at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino, severely biting his leg before another trainer and a lioness were able to break-up the inter-species feud. The harrowing scene was captured on video by a couple on their honeymoon and posted to YouTube, ABC News reports.

Video at the link. Not gory but not calm-inducing, either. Watch at your own risk.

MGM declined to release his or the lion's name,

Well, that's a relief. Lion anonymity is important!

He must have done something because the lion kept looking at him. I like how the lioness was like "Dude, what are you doing?"

Those trainers spend lots of time in the cages with those lions. The male obviously didn't like that trainer. People forget that those aren't tame little pussy cats. Wild animals can never be totally trusted.

At the STL Zoo some years back the elephants got out of their stalls, not out of the building, during the night. They apparently didn't like the one keeper. His locker, and his only, was demolished. His clothes were dragged into the cage where they were torn to shreds. Do you think the elies were giving him a message? :D

That is such an interesting story.
If I were him I'd have been seeking a transfer the next day.

The lion attack was odd. He was yawning like he was bored one minute,
then something about the guy caught his attention and made him want
to take a bite. Then he kept persuing the guy, but had no interest in the
other trainer. Maybe the guy had fried chicken for lunch and then farted
leaving a vapor trail that attracted the lion.
