Usain Bolt powered to a new world record as he produced a stunning run in the Olympic 100m final.

Bolt was well clear at 60m and although he eased down and started to celebrate 15 metres from the line he still set a new mark of 9.69 seconds.

Richard Thompson finished second while American Walter Dix came third but they were yards behind the Jamaican.

That was an incredible race to watch. That dude was motoring. Wasn't even close. The talking heads at NBC kept going on about how he might have run a 9.59 if he didn't start celebrating with 15 meters left.

NB: Tyson Homosexual (remember him :p) didn't make the finals.

What is scary is he literally quit running 15 yards before the finish line and STILL DESTROYED the world record.

All that can be said is WOW!

That man is amazing. Just think how much he would have shattered the record by if he had kept running!

I watched him run in the 200m qualifier last night. This dude is freaky fast. Look for another world record when he runs the final. I think it's on Wednesday.

Bolt asked me to do the run, but I informed him I wasn't Jamaican and although he wouldn't do as well as I would, would do well enough.

Good to see he did well.

Ah. What is your usual time through the 100m? Mines around 9.48. I've just never realy been interested in the offers given to me by schools around the world. Hey Usain!....fear me
