Does Pelosi really think she's fooling anyone. Obama has never met a tax he wanted to cut. Every day, when I think that she can't say something that sounds more idiotic than her last quote, she manages to out do herself.

As House Democrats and Republicans jockey over whether to allow a continuation of tax cuts passed nearly a decade ago or whether to raise taxes (http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/09/16/pelosi-calls-vote-obama-middle-class-tax-cuts/#) next year on some Americans, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (http://www.foxnews.com/topics/politics/nancy-pelosi.htm) said Thursday that she's all for "the extension of the Obama middle-income tax cuts."

"What I believe the American people deserve is a tax cut for the middle class," Pelosi said during her weekly press briefing. "And without getting into procedure and timing and process, what we're going to do is to say at the end of the day, the extension of the Obama middle-income tax cuts (http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/09/16/pelosi-calls-vote-obama-middle-class-tax-cuts/#) will take place, and that's what I have to say on the subject."

Tax-cut authorship aside, the comment opened inquiries into whether the speaker was hedging on her insistence that Bush-era cuts set to expire at the end of the year be extended for middle-income Americans or whether Pelosi would be willing to allow a vote on an extension for high-income earners.

House Minority Leader John Boehner, who earned guffaws from conservatives this week for announcing Sunday that if he had the choice of extending cuts only for the middle class he would, said that he was "encouraged" by Pelosi's seeming movement on the issue.

INSANE CRAZINES.. ALL ABSURDITY AND NONSENSE.

ok but seriously, if there's a bill proposed that lets the bush tax cuts expire for the wealthy, but extends tax cuts to the middle class, should the Republicans oppose it?

would YOU oppose it?

Closest I would go would be making the middle class tax cuts permanent and extending the tax cuts on the top 2% of taxpayers for no less than 2 yrs.

That woman is clearly insane!

Not so much insane as insanely dishonest. If she believed what she was saying, she'd be insane.

Yes, I would oppose it. Keeping taxes low for working stiffs but impoverishing the people who employ them makes no sense at all.

Yes, because the rich are the ones that create jobs. The uncertainty that Obama and the Democrats have created is unprecedented. Business owners do not know if their taxes are going to increase in Jan. nor do they know what the increased costs for health care costs nor do they know if cap and trade is going to pass.

Define wealthy.

Well a standard measurement for the poverty line is half of the median income, so the opposite of that would be twice the median income.

Still, we like to give people room to grow so instead of twice the median income let's make it about eight times the median income.

That's not really what I'd call wealthy, but that's about where tax cuts expire.

Wealth is something else entirely.

To get what I mean by wealth watch this very short dynamic chart:
