WASHINGTON — In 2004, the Republican master strategist Karl Rove led weekly sessions at his Washington residence where, over big plates of his butter-smothered “eggies” and bacon slabs, he planned the re-election of President George W. Bush — and what he hoped would be lasting Republican dominion over Democrats.

In April, Mr. Rove summoned several of the important players behind Mr. Bush’s ascendance to his home once again, this time to draw up plans to push a Republican resurgence.

Over takeout chicken pot pies, the group — the Republican fund-raiser Fred Malek, the onetime lobbyist and Bush White House counselor Ed Gillespie, and former Vice President Dick Cheney’s daughter Mary Cheney, among others — agreed on plans for an ambitious new political machine that would marshal the resources of disparate business, nonprofit and interest groups to bring Republicans back to power this fall.

When Mr. Rove left the White House in 2007, Democrats rejoiced at what they believed would be the end of his political career and the brand of Republicanism he espoused. This election season is proving that he is back — if he ever really left at all.

The landscape has changed, with Mr. Rove at times clashing with potent new Tea Party-style activists, some of whom view him as a face of the old party establishment they want to upend.

Remember how he took the heroic military record of John Kerry and made it a negative? He has done the same thing with the Democratic healthcare bill and the stimulus. These were the positive accomplishments that the Democrats were going to run on. Karl Rove has been working behind the scenes. You can bet on it.

His nickname is "Turdblossom". Why do you think that is? He can take a horse turd, laying out in the meadow, and convince folks that it's really a blossom. His political style is to take the most positive aspects of his opponent and turn it into a negative, and vice versa. Has this not been done in this campaign?

Also, the critical strategy for Karl Rove is to always keep your enemy on the defensive. No matter what it takes, stay on the offensive. Yes, I think Karl Rove is back in business.


Looks like the DUmp is lining up Lord Rove to blame when they lose big this November!!

It should be hilarious this election night. Everytime they lose a seat they will scream that Lord Rove "stole" that one tooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :p:D

The latest fundraising numbers from the conservative American Crossroads show the super-rich continue to pony up

New FEC filings show that American Crossroads, the Karl Rove-backed group that is pouring money into attack ads targeting Democrats around the country, continues to be funded virtually entirely by billionaires.

In August, American Crossroads raised $2,639,052. Fully $2.4 million of that -- or 91 percent -- came in the form of gifts from just three billionaires.

We've previously reported that the group is getting a staggering amount of support from billionaires, several of whom made their fortune in the energy industry and live in Texas. Last month Trevor Rees-Jones, president of Dallas-based Chief Oil and Gas, contributed another $1 million to American Crossroads, on top of the $1 million he gave earlier this year. Fellow billionaire Robert Rowling, CEO of the company TRT Holdings, also gave Crossroads his second $1 million donation in August.

Apparently, this DUmmy considers meeting repeatedly with the leaders of the Viet- Cong to orchestrate protests to undermine US war support, openly insulting his fellow soldiers who were still over there risking their lives, and calling those soldiers all a bunch of "War criminals" to be "Heroic" actions.
