Halloween is getting close. I have my costume of choice narrowed down to a few. Which one do y'all think will work best to scare the kiddies? Remember, I live in a rural area.

Scarecrow....http://www.spirithalloween.com/product/ht-scarecrow/

Carver the Clown.... http://www.spirithalloween.com/product/carver-the-clown-costume/

PumpkinSlayer ...... http://www.spirithalloween.com/product/pumpkin-slayer-adult-mens-costume/

People expect clowns to be scary and the scarecrow really doesn't look much like a scarecrow.

I voted for Pumpkin Slayer.

You could have fixed my title.

We kinda slacked a little last year, due to poor turnout by trick or treaters the last couple years. Of course, we had alot last year. We're trying to get back in the spirit this year.

Title is fixed.

Voted for the scarecrow.

We're not sure how much candy to get, as it's our first year in the subdivision.

Mods can't fix titles?

Mods can't fix titles?

Please note the error in spelling has been corrected. I must have done it before Ginger noticed it. Of course mods (if they have "powers" in the specific forum) can fix titles.

Can you post a picture of what you actually look like? This may all be unnecessary!

If scaring the kiddies is your goal, you have to go with the clown!

I like the Scarecrow, too. But it's a hard decision between it and the Clown. I figure I can sit in the chair with the candy in my lap, or put up a post to stand against, and make the kids think I'm fake.

Yeah, if they look evil. I mean if you are gonna go the evil clown route, you ought to just get a clown costume and a mask like this one (http://www.halloweencostumes4u.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?store_code=hal&screen=PROD&product_code=rub67121) or like this one (http://www.halloweencostumes4u.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=rub68331-clown-mask&Category_Code=clown-masks&Product_Count=18).

I voted scarecrow, because here's what I want to do. I read about this somewhere on the internet.

When you decorate your house for Halloween, you take some of your clothes, stuff them, make a burlap head, and build a scarecrow. Then you park the scarecrow on your porch, in a chair with a lazy pose three weeks early. During this time, all the neighborhood kids see this scarecrow on your porch and it gets set in their memory as part of your decorations. Then, on Halloween night, you take the clothes off the scarecrow, put them on yourself, then use the burlap "head" as a mask. Wear the scarecrow's hat and gloves as well. Then sneak out onto your porch and sit in the same pose. When the kids walk up, they'll recognize the "decoration". I'm pretty sure you guys know what happens next, you scare the beejeezus out of the kids with the goal being to see how fast you can get them to bolt down the driveway.

THAT sounds like the perfect idea. Thanks.

Is the object here a little harmless fun or is the object a lifetime of Halloween-related therapy bills for the kid and her parents?
