I just put two and two together and divided it by 2. Here's the story, the county I live in just built this shitty little park and welcome center that no one will ever stop at. They named it Elrod Park, in honor of some guy who fought in WW II from here. I was reading the paper yesterday about the dedication ceremony tomorrow at the park. Turns out Henry Elrod, who is from Turner County was the first aviator to recieve the Congressional Medal of Honor during WW II. He was the first man to sink a warship.
The Frigate, USS Elrod, is named after him. When I was onboard the USS Peterson, the Elord was docked right next to us. I never knew that it was named after someone from my little nowhere home town. Pretty cool, actually.
