New Book Asks Did President George W. Bush’s Decisions Promote Islamophobia and Lead to War Crimes?
MASS DECEPTION: Moral Panic and the U.S. War on Iraq by Scott A. Bonn

NEW YORK, Oct. 19 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- With the release of G.W. Bush's memoirs "Decision Points," now is the time to discuss the former president's decisions that led to the Iraq war. Dr. Bonn's factual account, MASS DECEPTION, verifies that Iraq's leader, Saddam Hussein, had no links to the 9/11 attacks, and Iraq did not possess the weapons of mass destruction claimed by President Bush prior to the invasion. Why, then, did the Iraq war garner so much public acceptance during its primary stages?

MASS DECEPTION investigates the G.W. Bush administration for its use of propaganda to demonize Arabs/Muslims after 9/11 and for its creation of a moral panic in the U.S. that manufactured public support for the Iraq war. This timely new book offers a compelling examination of the George W. Bush administration, the events leading up to the war, and the war's ongoing human and financial costs.

Dr. Bonn presents a case for how the Bush administration orchestrated a public panic after 9/11 with the passive assistance of the U.S. news media that led to war. MASS DECEPTION introduces a unique theory called "critical communication" to explain how and why political elites and the news media periodically create public panics that benefit both parties.

Dr. Bonn critiques the war and occupation of Iraq as violations of domestic and international law. He also examines the Bush administration's actual motivations for invading Iraq which he argues had nothing to do with national security. MASS DECEPTION connects propaganda and distortion efforts by the Bush administration to general theories of elite deviance and state crime.

Um I'm pretty sure 9/11 directly justified Bush's actions. There was no lies. No deception.

After all, nearly a decade later, the Taliban have absolutely no hope of getting power in Afghanistan, Al Queda has been dismantled, terrorism is at an all time low, Osama Bin Laden has been executed, and all of Saddam Hussein's weapons of mass destruction have been properly retrieved and disposed of.

I see, the best way to fight terrorism to is to ignore it  Tried that, didn't work.

The only reason Left likes the Taliban and Al Queda is because they are anti-American.

Unless of course Wei you think that women should have less rights then a dog, Jews and Homosexuals are worthy only of death, that music should be banned, that all religions should outlawed ( except Islam), books burned and art araised. Fascism has has risen again in the begining years of this new century, and those on the American Left side with it because they loath America more then they love liberty.

terrorism is at an all time low,

Terror attacks on American soil or against American interests before 9/11:

USS Cole-2000
Embassy bombings in Kenya and Tanzania-1998
Khubar Towers-1996
Riyadh bombing-1995
OKC bombing-1995*
WTC bombing-1993

*-Domestic terror attacks

Terror attacks on American soil or against American interests(not in a war zone) since 9/11:

"MASS DECEPTION investigates the G.W. Bush administration for its use of propaganda to demonize Arabs/Muslims after 9/11"
Demonizing Muslims? Is he kidding?
He is, after all, talking about the same George W. Bush who often in his speeches after 9/11 stressed that Islam teaches peace and the hijackers and their ilk are people who have perverted its teachings.

As has recently been advised from military commanders on the ground, the Taliban is running like hell. They've been hammered, they tangled with our SAS in Oruzgan and we sent them away with a bloody nose and few survivors.

They're losing.

Al Queda has been dismantled

They have been handed the most humiliating defeat of all time, witness Iraq and the Awakening...they go into villages and they dont come out. their commanders dead or captured, their weapons intercepted, their senior people in custody and singing like canaries.

American and Afghan forces have been routing the Taliban in much of Kandahar Province in recent weeks, forcing many hardened fighters, faced with the buildup of American forces, to flee strongholds they have held for years, NATO commanders, local Afghan officials and residents of the region said…

NATO commanders are careful not to overstate their successes — they acknowledge they made that mistake earlier in the year when they undertook a high-profile operation against Marja that did not produce lasting gains. But they say they are making “deliberate progress” and have seized the initiative from the insurgents.

Western and Afghan civilian officials are more outspoken, saying that heavy losses for the Taliban have sapped the momentum the insurgency had in the area. Unlike the Marja operation, they say, the one in Kandahar is a comprehensive civil and military effort that is changing the public mood as well as improving security…

NATO forces have experienced setbacks in other parts of Afghanistan, and some military officials say the advances in Kandahar may not represent a turning point in the overall war effort… But Kandahar represents the heartland of the Taliban insurgency and is the main focus of the large influx of American troops and Afghan government forces. “Afghans will tell you, if you have a peaceful Kandahar, you will have a peaceful Afghanistan,” General Carter said. “I think only time will tell."…

Lt. Col. Rodger Lemons, commanding Task Force 1-66 in Arghandab, said he had seen insurgent attacks drop from 50 a week in August to 15 a week two months later. That may be because of the onset of colder weather, when fighting tends to drop off, but Colonel Lemons said he felt the Taliban was losing heart.

“A lot are getting killed,” he said. “They are not receiving support from the local population, they are complaining that the local people are not burying their dead, and they are saying: ‘We are losing so many we want to go back home.’ “

Military and civilian officials say there are also signs of a crisis in command as Taliban leaders have struggled to maintain logistics and supply routes, suicide bombers have failed to turn up for attacks, and even senior commanders were showing reluctance to follow orders from their leader, Mullah Muhammad Omar, to go in to fight the NATO onslaught in Panjwai.

Because they will meet a battle hardened military onslaught of epic proportions.

terrorism is at an all time low

..and you think that Islamic terrorism started with 9./11?

Moron.

, Osama Bin Laden has been executed, and all of Saddam Hussein'sweapons of mass destruction have been properly retrieved and disposed of.

Bin Laden is either dead or in hiding.

Saddam had WMD, he had them, he used them, he wanted more, he shipped a great deal of what he had to Syria who recently hace had more than one "accident" with nerve gas...received from ...guess who.

I also refer you to a book by Kay Danes, who has been there, and she stated in a radio interview that the Afghan people want us there, that they need us there..and in the end, we WILL win.

Let 'em bring it.
