Original message The Bin Laden Family Just Gave Money to the GOP

Now, I am not saying that the Bin Laden family wrote a check to the RNC. That would be illegal---and stupid as hell. However, the Bin Laden family owns a chunk of Goldman Sachs.

And Goldman Sachs has given a big chunk of money to the “U.S.” Chambers of Commerce, which is being used as a conduit to funnel obscene amounts of corporate cash towards Republican candidates.

The Bin Laden family also owns a piece of Citigroup. And Citigroup is also a regular contributor to the “U.S.” Chambers of Commerce.

The Bin Laden family also owns a piece of Microsoft. And guess where Microsoft sent a million bucks this year. (For the answer, see the Think Progress link above)

The Bin Laden family also owns a piece of Boeing….

See the problem when so called multinational corporations start flooding U.S. elections with money? The money they are spending is supposed to buy influence and favors for corporation. But a corporation is just the public face of its owners.

The next time you see a U.S. Chamber of Commerce ad promising “Jobs and freedom” ask yourself what the Bin Laden Family really wants from the U.S. Congress. Hint: it is unlikely that either “jobs” or “freedom” are high on its wish list.

Teh Stupid in this one is quite amazing. And who better to give a seal of approval than....

Peggy...why don't you bang your head against your little McMansion in Calif. That would make as much sense as saying the "dots were connected". Write any good poetry lately???

DUmmies...posts like this smack of utter desperation on your part. They are also funny as hell since you morons assume someone "In Power" is reading DU.:D

Assuming these allegations are true, it would still be a moot point, for the same three reasons why claiming that the Bush family met/ did business with the Bin Laden family the way Michael Moore claimed is a moot point:
1. The Bin Ladens are a VERY large, VERY wealthy, and VERY influential family. As such, it is almost impossible to do any kind of business deals in the Middle East without at least a couple Bin Ladens being involved in some way.
2. With the obvious exception of Osama, the Bin Laden family is known for being very friendly towards the West.
3. Going along with point # 2, Osama has always been the black sheep of his family. He was an illegitimate heir to begin with, born from one of his father's concubines rather than one of the family matriarchs. His family officially disowned him when he was in his twenties due to how deranged and fanatical he had become, and at the time of 9/11, none of the Bin Ladens had met with him or spoken to him for years.
