Alaska Judge Orders Release of Miller's Employment Records

Published October 24, 2010
Associated Press

FAIRBANKS, Alaska -- The Fairbanks North Star Borough must release personnel records from Senate Republican candidate Joe Miller's time as an attorney for the borough, a judge ruled Saturday in a decision that favors several news organizations that sued for the information.
--snip--
Miller's attorney, Thomas Van Flein, had argued that the records were protected from release by borough code and the Alaska Constitution's right to privacy provision. But retired Superior Court Judge Winston Burbank said in the ruling that the public's right to know outweighs any right to privacy.

I would just like to know why this applies to Miller, but not Barry. Why does "the public's right to know outweights any right to privacy" in this race, but not when it comes to the release of Barry's birth certificate and college records?

But retired Superior Court Judge Winston Burbank said in the ruling that the public's right to know outweighs any right to privacy. This is a current precedent for the O Blah Blah files, right?:confused::cool:

Now conservative groups can sue for O Blah Blah's records under recent rulings.

Great point! This sets a case precedence.

Do as I say, not as I do, my dear...
