OK...with the Phils, and Yanks gone...what a snoozefest we have for a Series. Who's your pick?

Bubba Dawg
10-24-2010, 01:36 PM
None of my teams are in it. (Braves and Phillies)

That is not unusual for me so I'm accustomed to saying Okay, I'll root for....

San Francisco.

A snooze fest. The Yanks with a 210 million dollar payroll manufactured half as many runs as the Rangers and basically looked as old and worn out and over paid as they are.
At least the Rangers will show some energy.

Yeah....I'm a fan...so I'll watch...but let's face it. When it comes to ratings, MLB is doing a facepalm right now.

I'll be surprised if the ratings are anywhere near what a Yanks Phils series would have garnered.

Have to root for the NL West team. Even though Brian Wilson's beard scares me.

I'm kind of torn here. SF has the pitching, obviously and Texas has the offense and can bludgeon a team to death(just ask the Yankees). I really don't see SF hanging with Texas offensively but I thought the same about the Phils. SF scored more than 4 runs only once in the NLCS and were scored upon more than 4 runs only twice. But Texas isn't as undisciplined at the plate as the Phillies are. It's going to be a good series and I believe it will go 7 games. This is going to be better than anyone thinks. I don't have any jack at all in this series as I don't have any love or hate for either team. I'll go with Texas only because they have home field.

Maybe a snooze-fest for y'all, but here in Texas it's a major big deal.
This is the Rangers first time to play in the World Series. I don't usually
watch and am not all that into sports, especially on TV. But I will be
watching this year for sure and rootin for my home team.

The teams that lost, the Yanks and Philly, put me to sleep. This should be a great series, and I will be pulling for the Rangers.

Nice shaking off the ghosts of the Washington Senators, eh?

But I have come up with another reason to root for Texas. SF is well, you know, SF. The land of Nancy Pelosi and Gavin Newsome. While the Rangers used to be owned by George W. Bush. No more reason than that.

Nolan Ryan owns a part of them now doesn't he?
He has opened a great chain of restaurants now called Steak Express.
Great steaks grilled to perfection and delivered hot to your door.
Just like a pizza delivery, but instead, steak, baked potato, salad, tea.

I actually forgot about that. It's been so long since the NL won an All Star game, I forgot they actually won one this year. Still, I like the Rangers.

Snooze-fest?

That's because the Yankees or Red Sox or Dodgers aren't involved. The ratings for this series will be just fine.

It wouldn't have anything to do with the Giants beating your team that couldn't be beat, would it?;)

I'm pulling for Lincicum (or however you spell it) because he looks just like the kid from Dazed and Confuzed, all the way down to the terrified look on his face between pitches.

Lincicum should have laid off the pre-game bong.

The players looked nervous out there. Even Lee at times. Hell, Kinsler rounding 1st base was a catastrophe too, except the Rangers were already down 8-2 (I think).

I'm a long long long time Braves fan. I remember the first World Series they made (in Atlanta) and they got beat by Minnessota. That was okay, though. They came back and won it the next year (1995).

I don't know about that. The Giants don't exactly have a star hitter, just some very solid complementary pieces. The Phillies had/have Utley, Howard, Rollins, Werth....some definite star power there.
