You've heard of the free state project. Well, Democrats who are smarting after last night have a way out.

Dependence in Our Lifetime

Are you frustrated at the loss of a free-ride and sense of entitlement in America, while the growth of government involvement and distribution of wealth stalls? Do you want to live in communities where your right to three meals a day and universal healthcare are respected? Do you want others to fund welfare by forcing them to redistribute, by force if necessary, the earnings they have worked hard for? Are you looking for freedom without responsibility?

If you answered "yes" to these questions, then the Free Lunch Project has a solution for you.

"I will move to Massachusetts by 12/31/2009 where I will work to bring about a society in which government’s minimal role is providing food, healthcare, and jobs but only if 999 other dependence-loving communitarians will do the same." -- Tom Nealaus, Socialist Nanny

Democrats need to just start being honest and start running as Republican-light and we should have a real Labor Party.

Democrats need to just start being honest

If they had done that, we never would have had to "take back" the house.

You know it's really simple Wei.

Cut ALL government spending.
Cut taxes.
Don't bailout failed corporations.
Don't give government preference to fund corporations in order to stimulate the economy.
Don't start and CONTINUE two decade long wars that help fuel the bankruptcy.
Don't define "rights" as "things that are nice to have".

If you understood a 1/10 of this crap hurts your cause...you would have a real labor party that could help the poor, and help the elderly on fixed incomes.

I'm supremely confidant that Obama and the 111th congress weren't about to attack any of that.

Now whether these freshman congress critters will actually do that is something to be determined.

No one is cutting all government spending. Let me guess, even after this midterm 80-90% of the budget is still going to be spent.

Taxes were cut in the stimulus package. I agree about tax cuts on most Americans.

Right don't bailout failed corporations I agree.

Also agree with not giving out corporate welfare thinly disguised as helping "working Americans".

Not cool with the wars either or how they've been handled.

I'm not sure what you mean about the rights though.

Cutting ALL spending means nothing is off the table. Foreign and domestic. Generally speaking...and I mean "generally"......Many Conservatives have a hard time with the former and Liberals seem to have a hard time with the later.

"Things that are nice to have" are all the rights collectivists have conjured out of thin air because they kneel at the alter of positivism. Health care, jobs, social security, digital TV .....basically anything that requires someone else to be forced to provide said "right".

Good...Then we can agree the stimulus program is a failure.

"What the Free Lunch Project is... The Free Lunch Project is an effort to recruit 20,000 dependence-loving people to move to Massachussetts or perhaps California, Venezuela, Illinois or Wisconsin."

They better stay away from Wisconsin, we finally got this state turned in the right direction.

I agree with you Wei, but the American system is designed for only two parties. In order for a Labor Party to spring up it would either have to adapted from or replace one of the existing parties.

I agree with the need to smash the two party system....but the labor party in France is a joke. Even socialists in the U.S. mock it's existnce. Remember Mitterand?
