Hank Morris' Plea Deal with Attorney General Andrew Cuomo Won't Be Released, Judge Decides

"They're 'milking' him for Information on Others Involved and convinced the Judge to keep it quiet."

A Manhattan judge Friday declined to release the plea deal cut by the key player in the massive pay-to-play pension fund scandal.
Democratic operative Hank Morris, political guru to disgraced former Controller Alan Hevesi, cut a deal with Attorney General Andrew Cuomo after being hit in an 77-count indictment.

Cuomo's prosecutors have submitted Morris' proposed plea agreement and a confession to Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Lewis Bart Stone.

Stone is reviewing the agreement. He insisted the details of the plea deal should be "released" publicly, given the magnitude of Morris' shenanigans.
Prosecutors convinced Stone to keep the deal under wraps, until it's finalized. The judge expressed a desire to see Morris' dirty deeds aired in public.

"Given what this case is all about, secret deals and special relationships...it should be released to the press," Stone said.

Morris is accused of pocketing $19 million in kickbacks from firms that won business from the Hevesi-controlled pension fund.

Morris has agreed to plead guilty to a single count of felony securities fraud. According to sources, he faces up to four years behind bars - and could be forced to pay millions in restitution.

Morris faces up to 25 years in the slammer if the case goes to trial."He will be most cooperative, you betcha !"
