How secure are you feeling these days? (Pretty fair.) Is your job secure? (Yep.) Are your possesions secure? (With my ARs and 3 killer Greyhounds, sure thing!) Are your investments secure? (Cash is a good thingy!) Are you waking up in the middle of the night worrying about the future? (Nope, I sleep like a baby.) Has life become burdensome? (Nope!)

You’re not alone, unless you’re incredibly rich. (Bullshit you fucking assclown. We're hardly rich and we don't fit your widdle Doom & Gloom World.)

At present, whether you want to admit it or not, most of us are owned. We are owned by Oil Companies, Big Pharma, Banks (That's Banksters ahole, get it right.), Wall Street, the medical insurance industry, and many others. We are property to be milked, bled dry, and discarded.

And if you think you’re part of some entity called the “middle class,” you’re living in a delusion. The middle class has just about ceased to exist and you’re only a few paychecks away from disaster. (Yeah, you read that on DU from all the other Super Geniuseseses so it must be true.)

Don’t blame yourself for getting here. We’re all responsible because we all let ourselves get conned, raped and bludgeoned by those who run/own everything, and those who act as their shills -- people we call politicians. (Not us dickhead.)

We never saw it coming because it crept up so slowly and quietly. And my guess is that most people are still clueless as to what has happened to them.

What happened was that we had a brief “Camelot” moment that lasted from about 1945 to 1980 during which time the ancient evils couldn’t get a foot hold. Then, those ancient evils reawakened with a vengeance. You know what they are: Bigotry, hatred and an insatiable, all consuming greed. Those in power told you that these evils were virtues and far too many bought into the lie.

Shortly after that, hate radio came into our lives, followed by hate television. And it’s been a downhill propaganda sled ride ever since. (Hate? Look on the board you're posting on shithead.)

It’s my belief that our time is limited. Before long, the criminal psychotics who run almost everything will decide that America is dispensable. After all, the large markets of the 21st century will be China and India. Americans won’t have enough left to make it worth the while of those who own just about everything.

Is there a way for the peasants to rise up and reclaim America? We thought we were doing that in 2008, but it didn’t seem to work out too well for us. So what’s our alternative? Do we sit around waiting for our own funerals?

I know this post is depressing, but it’s my view of our current reality. And if you agree with all or part of it, where do we go from here? What can we realistically do to stop our slide into oblivion?

What a collection of losers...:D

70. Capitalism is the problem...? No, people gaming the system is the problem.

Capitalism is the only economic system that recognizes the rights of the individual. Other economic systems place a higher value on the rights of the collective.

Thus, capitalism is the only economic system that is compatible with freedom.

Pepperoni, mushroom and sausage anyone?

25. I was gonna say, "Form our own country"

You know, buy a very large island or chain of islands somewhere, and go there. That is if this place is indeed beyond salvation.

Problem is, the powers-that-be we'd be fleeing would inevitably find a way to infiltrate or buy our utopia...and failing that, they would just nuke it.

Um... no the problem is that you will either all starve to death or start voting people off the island because they don't want to contribute to the "greater good". Dummies provide their own food, shelter, utilities without some government to give it to them? Not a chance.

33. Fine post, that speaks for many of us.

I'm afraid the evilness has progressed to a point of control that the good people in America will never be able to reverse it. The more likely scenario is as you described "Americans won't have enough left to make it worth the while...". I take that to mean that we will have collapsed from the sheer force of the illogical political actions that have occurred over the years.

As to what will happen after that, I can't even imagine.

The good people of America can reverse it if all you government resource suckers would go to Wednesdays island. Problem solved in a week.

Well Cyranno, you're just big ball of bubbley bliss, ain't ya

Its always some metal midget trying to tell you over and over again the Socialism will save your soul; Cy must be short on his meds again.

Censorship seems to be DU's never ending project. Ever since 1987, the Left in America has had a 24/7 hatefest for any meduim which doesn't parrot back to them their own thoughts. Never have I seen any Conservative, Libertarian, Green, or Indepdent screech endlessy about MSNBC, CNN, Network News, or NPR demanding that they be silenced.

And only a Moonbat like Cyranno thinks that an all controling Nanny State ( with Moonbats running it) that kills every liberty is what we need in this country. That because Moonbats have an over whelming desire to control people. Like it said in the song SUNSHINE GOLD " YOU CAN'T EVEN RUN YOUR OWN LIFE, I'LL BE DAMN IF YOU'LL RUN MINE ".

So Cyranno, take your meds, have a good cry and leave the American people to decide their own fate.
I know its hard, but try get out of your little echo chamber every now and then.

You mean like Air America, MSNBC, etc?
