Airport safety experts critical of the new full-body scanners at US airports say the machines will not stop a determined terrorist. The scanners can see through clothing, but they cannot see certain items concealed in a body cavity.

Experts fear itís only a matter of time before body-cavity bombs are used against Americans.

I have a simple solution to this problem. Sniffer dogs.

They train dogs to sniff out explosives. Dogs naturally want to sniff people's butts. It's a natural solution.

Nice how they use a white kid as the terrorist. Christ, even computer animation that is on the right track in theory is PC.

What is really f'ing stupid about the government and the TSA scanning in particular is that if or when terrorists really decide to take action against citizens in this country, it will not be on planes. Not even a small minority in this country flies on a regular basis.

It will be schools, restaurants, theaters and other public places. It will be done in a manner so that no matter where you are or what you are doing, you no longer feel immune from a terrorist strike.

Right now this is about getting the government to spend billions on window dressing while providing virtually no actual protection and at the same time using things like the TSA and the Patriot Act to further erode the personal liberties and freedoms of the population at large.

I'm amazed we've avoided it this long.

And the first time it happens in Detroit (not that many could tell the difference if it did), Dearbornistan will be toast.
