This is a very sad story. I work within walking distance of this mall, and the accused just lives a few miles from me. This is not a "look what illegals do!" thread, since there's no indication she is one. This is an insanity thread. :(

"A two-year-old child died at Inova Fairfax Hospital this morning after a family member allegedly threw her off a sixth-story outdoor walkway at Tysons Corner Center.

Police say that Carmela Dela Rosa, of 3146 Ellenwood Drive, Fairfax, was walking to a parking garage with the child, Angelyn Ogdoc, of Falls Church, and other family members when Dela Rosa allegedly threw Ogdoc over the edge of the walkway."

The woman is the child's grandmother and evidently babysat the child several times a week. :(

I expect there's some kind of mental illness issue here. I mean, there would almost have to be.

She's a young granny-not the youngest I've ever seen, but she looks like she's in her early 40s.

My guess is that she has a delusional disorder of some type, and thought the child was possessed or something like that.

She's fifty, and babysat the kid all the time. It will be interesting to learn more about what happened. :(

Doesn't look like the same person. You'll probably find a lot of people with the same name on FB.

A little more on the story, and a look at the walkway where it happened.

This is just horrible. You can protect your child from strangers, traffic and everything else out there, and then a close, trusted family member just snaps. When I heard this, my first thought was about my own little girl, who is just a few months older than the victim, and I wondered how someone could do that, and then, when I heard the whole story, it just made me cringe.

A bit more information today. She had "stresses" and apparently didn't like her son in law. All good reasons to kill the child, I guess.
