The legal problems for Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., might have taken a turn for the worse, officials said.

The House ethics committee has approved a forced, indefinite leave by two of the lead investigators on the panel investigating alleged wrongdoing by Waters on behalf of a bank, The Washington Post reported.

Zoe Lofgren, D-Calif., said "materials" have surfaced that require an investigative subcommittee to take up Waters' alleged ethics violations once again.

The investigative subcommittee recommended in August that Waters be tried on ethics charges for helping a troubled, minority-owned bank in Boston in which her husband held a large investment.

This has come back to life now because they don't want her to face the evil Republicans next year. I would rather have them use the lame duck session for this than pass more socialist programs.

Censured is a fancy word for verbal reprimand.

For those of you that want to see her prosecuted: What legal charges should Maxine be brought up on? I'm not completely versed in the case so . . . fill me in.

Poli when you call someone a racist on this board to most people it means no more than small talk, like referring to the weather or hows it going.

from Britannica:
RACISM - Any action, practice, or belief that reflects the racial worldview — the ideology that humans are divided into separate and exclusive biological entities called "races," that there is a causal link between inherited physical traits and traits of personality, intellect, morality, and other cultural behavioral features, and that some "races" are innately superior to others.

Your constant injection of the issue of 'race' into unrelated discussions is clearly motivated by racism.

Well, I could give a fuck what people think because I'm tired of the 800lb gorilla(no pun intended) sitting in the room but everyone ignores it. Everyone knows that if Rangel was white and Republican, he would have gotten far worse than a verbal reprimand. Or did I dream the whole Trent Lott thing where all he did was praise Strom Thurmond and lost his senate leadership and eventually resigned his senate seat. And he did far, far less than what Rangel did.

So, you don't think Rangel's color had anything to do with the slap on the wrist he got? Sherr. You keep on believing that.

The PRESS did that to Trent. He was never brought up on any charges at all in the Senate. Validate your claim dude. Show me just one example of when the house expelled a republican for doing what Charlie did.

Let me help you:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_Representatives_expelled,_ce nsured,_or_reprimanded

Reality is out of 23 members of the house who have been censured - only 5 have been republicans. 3 were censured for selling military academy appointments, one for sexual misconduct with a house page, and the last for involvement in Crédit Mobilier. ALL of the expelled congressmen have been democrats.

No actually I don't. But then I know a bit more about censure and who's been censured and why than you apparently do.
