When Lady Gaga and a host of other celebrities sacrificed their online lives to help raise $1million for World Aids Day, it seemed a pretty safe bet that they would only take a couple of days to reach the target.

Yet after 48 hours the total sum is just $183,000 and the figure is only slowly creeping up. At this rate it could end up leaving the kind-hearted celebs with two weeks of digital silence. And to make matters worse, the fundamental rules of the stunt mean the famous faces can’t tweet or write on Facebook about it to encourage people to get involved… Sort of a ‘Catch Twitter-Two’… any Joseph Heller fans out there?

It's all part of a campaign called Digital Life Sacrifice where celebrities attempt to raise money for Keep A Child Alive by refusing to update their Facebook and Twitter accounts until $1million has been raised.

Perhaps someone should have thought of this unintended consequence. :D

Keith Oberman and other liberal celebrities and news commentators should try this fund raising method!
