I'm printing that out and will take to the manager of my local grocery
store to see if they could import and start carrying this product. :)

No, it's not brown. It's western country. It's cowboy faggots. :D

There's nothing like a tasty faggot; and gravy isn't supposed to be a meal in itself. :p :D

I can truly lay claim to having never had a faggot in my life.

Faggots may be a British delicacy, but one that has passed me by.

I will own to having had this dish served to me, but I have never prepared it as a dessert.

I believe that it is a sponge pudding containing currants. As I recall, best served with custard.

A very unfortunate name. I recall from early childhood that it was the pudding that dare not speak its name, the better to prevent laughter at the lunch counter.

I bet you have had your share of Toad in the Hole (http://www.toomanychefs.com/images/toad.jpg) as well, eh Hamp? :D

Now that is an excellent dish.

Toad in the Hole consists of top quality English sausages baked in a batter, with a heavy beef/pork onion gravy. If you get it right, then the batter should be very similar to the taste and texture of the perfect Yorkshire Pudding, itself yet another of my country's contributions to the culinary arts.

It's not that easy to get right first time, but it is definitely worth the effort.

Sounds pretty good. Especially one who has been famished for the last 6 months for real food.

....

With all due respect, we do have other fora more suited to such images than this one

This is The Lounge.

In The Lounge, we discuss things like food, rather than showing images of riot police.

Give The Lounge a try now and then. It's supposed to be all blue-skies and bunny-rabbits here.

Post a recipe, a joke, anything non-political. It might even work out for you.
