DeLay: 'Unless Obama Proves Me Wrong, He Is a Marxist' (http://briefingroom.thehill.com/2008/06/05/delay-unless-obama-proves-me-wrong-he-is-a-marxist/)
@ 5:24 pm by Andy Barr

Former House Republican Leader Tom DeLay (Texas) called Barack Obama a "Marxist" on the Mike Gallagher radio show Thursday. Explaining that Obama clinching the Democratic nomination is a good thing for John McCain, DeLay said Obama's "weakness" is that "nobody knows him."

"And if McCain does not define him as what he is — hey, I have said publicly, and I will again, that unless he proves me wrong, he is a Marxist," DeLay said.

The radio host agreed with DeLay, who is facing money laundering charges, saying Obama is "desperately trying to cover up what seems to be the kind of old school Marxist radical liberal failed ideology."

"Absolutely," DeLay said. "No doubt about it."

I don't support Obama's positions (at least the ones I've even heard), so I don't intend to vote for him. I don't give a gnat's ass what Tom DeLay thinks of anybody.

Wow, truth hurts.

I still cant fathom why people want to vote for such a socialist turd.

Do people want to be taxed into oblivion?

Exactly. Obama's plans for the capital gains tax ALONE are enough to keep me from voting for him.

Meh. Doesn’t carry any more weight than Odysseus calling me one - an FAA Repair Station owner, with 12 employees - fully insured and with a company pension plan. Just another fart in the wind.

IS it 25% he wants?

I thought he wanted to tax it at ordinary income? Maybe it was just 28% across the board.

I remember when he was first asked about capital gains taxes, and he had no idea about the issue, and just spouted off some number. Who knows what his real policy is on it.

In a debate with Clinton (once they got beyond the asinine "flag lapel pin" issuse), he said he would take it back to the original 28%.

Correct, his advisors are backing off the 28% figure but it is definitely going up along with income taxes, removing the W.H. cap on wages and gasoline taxes. If he became Prez , the captial gain on your residence which is exempt up to a half mil. for a couple and a quarter mil. for a single might be tinkered with also.

Delay has got it right. Obama plans to add and increase social programs. Kinda like a combo of the New Deal & Great Society that would turn us into a marxist society along with turning sovereignty over to the UN.

The stupid part of it is, is that cuts in capital gains taxes ESPECIALLY lead to more revenues for the govt. Obama was questioned on this earlier and his answer was to demonize hedge fund managers - as if that has ANYTHING to do with the wisdom of the policy.

Couple that with a redistribution of 875 billion dollars to developing nations, eliminating the US Constitution, putting the United States under the rule of the ICC in the Hague, and gutting the US military to Carter levels.
Add Warner Lieberman and the US economy is on a third world level before the 2010 off year elections.

Tax code wise, expect the Clinton tax code and more.........private health insurance?, your benefits taxed as ancillary income. Provided for your retirement?, means testing on your Social Security.

Given the Government's inability to manage the Social Security Trust fund or manage Medicare in a prudent fashion, why even think of giving the government any more irresponsibilities?

Don't forget the no cap on taxing for Social Security.

I get bent out of shape when I file my Fed income tax return and have to pay taxes on 85% of my social security benefits.

I agree Obama is about as socialist as they come. Like FeebMaster said though Tom Delay is not exactly a shining paragon for conservatives.

Tom Delay represented the neighboring 22 District here in Texas, I lay the earmark and K Street problem directly at his feet. He chose to use the power of the purse to rule rather than the Reagan philosophy of conservative ideas and limited government. That being said, we have a narrow opportunity to defeat Osama, Obama, and Chelsea's momma. If we don't, The United States of America will cease to exist as we know and love it.

Second Amendment - gone
Constitution - subordinated to the UN and the Hague,
Freedom of Speech - for socialists and communists yes, for dissenters, none,
Freedom to educate our children in our chosen faith - gone, you must serve the State,
Private property - gone, failure to rise up enmasse to Kelo condemned ALL property owners to the State,
Freedom to acquire wealth, live where you want, associate who you want to, and eat what you want, - gone,
retirement - gone, you will pay on what you have accumulated,

Welcome to Barack Huessein Obama's America..................

It may be somewhat simplistic, but should not McBush simply take these Socialist intentions on, program by program and keep a running total of their projected expenses, and end every debate and stump speech with the running total figure of what Obama's Utopia will end up costing every American taxpayer?

Tom Delay is a closet Hiterly Villager. I had a link on the old site that described why I say that. I may be able to dig it up.
