A Chinook helicopter pilot "lands" his aircraft somewhere in remote Afghanistan, to extract a group of Special Forces soldiers. It's all in a day's work, apparently:

That's one of the methods. That reminded me of the terraces on the way to Assadabad. Mixed memories indeed.

The tricky (and impressive) part is the crew coordination required. The actual flying isn't that difficult due to the thrust brake and the hold modes, etc. These guys impressed me many times with some of their missions. A great aircraft and some brave crew members. The days of me making fun of the aircraft and crew are long gone.

I'm always just in awe watching our military at work.

I still can't imagine how they move like they do in all that gear they wear.
One of the good things that came out of this war (if there can be such a thing)
is that due to the internet and YouTube, the rest of us have had the opportunity
to see glimpses like this of our guys at work like never before. Just awesome.
