This has always been one of my very most favorite Christmas stories.

Not to take away from the other Christmas jukebox,
but this can be a place for military Christmas music videos
and stories. I'd love to hear from some of our veterans about
the places you were and the stories you might have to tell of
Christmases past when you were deployed away from home.
God bless all of our troops wherever they may be this Christmas.

Sadly that truce didn't stop the war. It almost did, if it wasn't for the pricks in high places it could have. would have saved a lot of misery over the next 80 years

The tragedy of war is that hisorically it's always been the poor and needy who are sent to fight for the rich and powerful. For a short time, they saw their common struggle, their common ideals, and saw right through the nationalistic bullshit that their leaders were trying so hard to brainwash them with so that they'd kill each other. A good display of humanity peeking through ideology.
